I wish Chan had just gone that one step further

Over at WeekendPundit, Chan quoted moi (but not my extreme liking for their breakfast burritos – darn!):

This is a lesson any mature business has to relearn again and again if it wants to stay in business.

This is what happens when McDonald’s listens to its customers – success.

Some corporations get so big that they believe they can dictate to their customers what to buy. But examples abound that disprove that notion, some of which meant the bankruptcy and dissolution of many companies who ignored the old axiom “The customer’s always right.”

That one extra step?

Government can “get so big” as well where it believes they can dictate to their subjects citizens how to live their lives.  I do believe we, at the Federal level, have almost gone over that tipping point. This post (“Is America Ruled By Law or Ruled by Power?“) is talking about Hillary up top but finally gets to the conclusion that many of us on the Right have abjectly had to think hard about for at least the last five years:

The question is whether we are a nation operating under the rule of law, or one operating under the rule of power. I regret to say that today we are not governed by the rule of law.

No one is supposed to be above The Law.  Yet, we see those in high places, or with high connections, getting away with actions that we lesser mortals would be pining for the light of day.  This cannot stand if the Republic is to continue to stand.  God help us with what might be the next step.
