EMBARRASSING: Scott Brown endorses Donald Trump

Last night at a Milford, New Hampshire rally, Scott Brown (former Massachusetts Senator) endorsed Presidential candidate Donald Trump. Trump claimed that a lot of candidates were seeking Brown’s endorsement but it seems he doesn’t know much about Brown’s history in the Granite State or even Massachusetts for that matter.

Brown was elected as a United States Senator in a special election in 2010 after Teddy Kennedy passed away. Brown’s claim to fame was that he was an “independent” candidate who thinks for himself and he’d be the 41st vote against Obamacare if elected. And elected he was in a huge victory against left wing dim bulb Martha “Marsha” Coakley. Of course, he never got to vote against Obamacare because of shenanigans played by then house leader Nancy Pelosi.

From there, Brown’s political career went downhill pretty fast when he was one of only three Republican Senators to vote for the outrageous Dodd-Frank bill which has indeed turned out to be a failure. From National Review:

The legislation has overwhelmed the regulatory system, stifled the financial industry, impaired economic growth, and done nothing to correct the pernicious effects of “too big to fail.” But that’s only the beginning: Many more of its regulations still need to be written, some several years down the road, all of which injects massive uncertainty into the financial industry.

Brown ran for re-election in 2012 when his term was up and lost to part-time Harvard college professor Lizzie Warren. You may remember her as “fauxcahontas” for lying about being a Cherokee Indian in order to get hired by Harvard. Granted, Massachusetts voters aren’t known for voting well but Brown lost much of the support he garnered in his 2010 run which was a huge reason he lost.

From there, Brown decided to move to New Hampshire and live full-time in a summer home he owns. Unfortunately for Granite Staters, Brown also decided to run for United States Senate against Jeanne Shaheen. This was a failure before his campaign even began. Not only was Brown instantly labelled a “carpetbagger” but 2nd Amendment activists held bigger rallies against him than were being held for him.

Brown voted for the “assault weapons” ban in Massachusetts and is considered an enemy of the 2nd Amendment. Brown also pushed Planned Parenthood support in a state where the majority of people have been pushing to have the organization defunded. Brown won the three-way primary but lost to Shaheen pretty handily. There was even a campaign called “Not Scott Brown” and people wrote in “John Stark” rather than vote Brown or Shaheen.

Trump’s campaign handlers should know all of this but it doesn’t seem to have stopped them from thinking twice. Brown is actually a conservative “kiss of death” so it’s hard to believe any candidates other than the lightweights would want his endorsement. It’s ironic that both Brown and Trump agree on things like Universal Healthcare and while Trump claims to be for the 2nd Amendment, he too was previously for an “assault weapons” ban.

This is probably a match made in liberal Heaven but any true conservative voters in the Granite State won’t see much benefit in having a carpet bagging, two-time losing, anti-2nd Amendment, pro-Planned Parenthood Massachusetts Senator back a candidate who wants their support for President. At a time when many are questioning Trump’s conservatism, Brown’s endorsement does nothing to reassure voters.
