And so it begins – the US Senate Republicans poke a hole in their Supreme Court dike.

I knew it wouldn’t last long before some squish Republican US Senator would start the wimping out – it is who they are.  They were elected to do ONE thing: stop Obama and the Progressive agenda for which he stands.  Any.Way.Necessary.and.Possible.  Full Stop.  You only have one job to do to keep this country moving closer to full socialism.  I say that for I doubt they can actually move that Overton Window back to the right – they could have they wanted to but they lack the political will.  Doubt me?

Breaking from his fellow Republicans, Illinois Sen. Mark Kirk on Monday urged his colleagues to approve the next nominee for Supreme Court justice.

Allowing an ideologically sympatico judge to be seated on the Supreme Court bench is part and parcel of that Full Stop.  Yes, the President has the Constitutional power and responsibility to nominate someone.  The Senate has the same in advising and consenting.  That said, saying “No” is advising and as I have said before, part of consent is also having the ability to withhold that consent – else it is just rubber stamping (which has been what their actions have told us).

I knew it would be just a short amount of time before some squish would get down on their knees and kiss his ring; what a sap.  This is why the phrase “Jr. Democrats” was born and doesn’t go away.  Go ahead, that court isn’t political enough.  And, Kirk, the fact that you even THINK that Obama is going to listen to your babbling words means you have less political sense than my dog:

“A partisan or extreme nominee would not be prudent nor would it provide a steady, scholarly hand to guide the constitutional ship of state,” Kirk wrote, adding, “My sincerest hope is that President Obama nominates someone who captures the sentiment he spoke about before the Illinois General Assembly this month — a nominee who can bridge differences, a nominee who finds common ground and a nominee who does not speak or act in the extreme.”

And less a grasp on reality than my other dog.  You REALLY believe yet another “campaign promise” which history has shown to all have expiration dates.  Sounds good, makes Obama sound like a centrist – but as I keep saying, it is not what he SAYS but in what he DOES (as it is for all other politicians – I just can’t hammer this point often and hard enough!).  WHEN has his actual DOING matched his spoken words?

It’s all for the rubes – or politicians looking to appear willing to compromise.  That, in my mind, has become the same as appeasement.  Just as Obama has reached out in appeasement to all of the US traditional enemies (and become a laughing stock when those “agreement” are “ripped up” before the ink is dry), so are the Republicans are to Obama.  Obama has gotten NOTHING out of his agreements (except plaudits from his fellow Statist / Leftist sojourners); Republicans will gain nothing by appeasing Obama or the media by caving in.

Except the loss of our votes in November.  I’m an indepedent now – not that I ever felt a compunction of being forced to vote Republican then, my feeling is that if they don’t earn my vote, I don’t have to vote for them either.  And that includes ANY one that I think is unwilling to put their entire political being into restoring this country to its roots.  No truce, no appeasement, no compromise at all to those that would move the country further Left; no vote for any perceived enabler either.

And at this time, this means Kelly Ayotte.  ANY program, any legislation, any tax, any vote that enables a smidge left is one for those that hate our Constitutional values.

UPDATE: And another one folds like a cheap wet suit – and it is not surprising whom:

Sen. Susan Collins, a Maine Republican, told CNN that the Senate should take the process “one step at a time,” but would also consider a nominee from Obama.

“For my part, it’s clear that the President can send up a nominee — regardless of where he is before he leaves office,” Collins told CNN. “It is the duty of the Senate, under the Constitution, to give our advice and give our consent or withhold our consent. I believe we should follow the regular order and give careful consideration to any nominee that the president may send to the Senate.”

So, whatcha say – 2 more tomorrow?  By end of next week, leadership will, once again, give into Harry Reid and Obama?
