Yesterday was the vote on House Bill 582 which would end almost 100 years of state-sanctioned discrimination against Granite Staters. Of course, the majority of Democrats voted against the measure. The party that claims to be for women’s rights, minority rights and gay rights voted to continue allowing the state to discriminate against each of these groups.
Why? Because the bill has to do with ending discrimination and racism regarding pistol licensing. Apparently their hoplophobia is more important than ending a law that was intentionally put into place in New Hampshire for racist and discriminatory reasons and still works that way to this day.
There’s no longer any excuse that they couldn’t have possibly known this law was racist from the beginning. There’s no longer any excuse they couldn’t have possibly known women indeed have been discriminated under the current pistol licensing law because they have been provided with evidence over and over again.
Of course, Vermont has had “Constitutional Carry” since its inception and they are still consistently one of the safest states in the country AND the world. New Hampshire is as well. Clearly gun owners in the state have proven they are responsible since they can readily open carry without getting permission.
Democrats don’t care that discrimination and racism exist in New Hampshire even when it’s done by police chiefs who end up being accused of feloniesthemselves. These police chiefs aren’t “suitable” for office yet they are somehow okay with determining who is “suitable” to practice their fundamental human right to self defense? Democrats don’t care that single mothers may be denied their right to protect themselves without the recourse to afford a court battle.
What’s more important to New Hampshire Democrats is to continue pushing Obama’s gun control propaganda. The fact that the majority of Granite Staters, also known as their constituents, want “Constitutional Carry” simply doesn’t matter. Democrats would prefer to keep discrimination and racism alive and well in New Hampshire, especially since the original law was put into place by a Democrat.
