NH Senate Race: Two pathetic candidates in an historical cat fight

Yesterday WMUR released an update on their campaign reports in which they discuss the dueling petitions between incumbent Senator Kelly Ayotte and Governor Maggie Hassan, running for the same seat. Apparently each candidate has a petition out this week. Hassan’s is about taking rights away from innocent people on the ‘No Fly List’ and Ayotte’s is about opposing the Nuclear Iran Deal. They both smack each other around in their petitions.

In what is an historical race, the first time in New Hampshire history that two women are running for the same United States Senate seat, it’s also the most pathetic. Neither candidate has represented their constituents during their time in office. Hassan has been a horrendous governor and continually ignores the will of the people by vetoing bills passed with bipartisan support in both houses. Ayotte has gone off the rails recently and started voting even further left than she normally does.

Neither woman is ‘suitable’ for the senate seat but they are who Granite Staters are stuck with for their choices. Hassan is complaining that Ayotte isn’t horrible enough to have voted to take the rights away of innocent people because Ayotte says she’s wants to add due process. Of course, both women have no problem taking the rights away from innocent people on the ‘No Fly List’ it’s just that Hassan doesn’t care if said innocent people can’t get off the list.

It’s nothing but a joke in which both women continually pander to various groups, polls and special interests. Forget that silly Constitution. Hassan is alreadyknown for her discrimination against innocent people for her continuing support of state-sanctioned discrimination as governor. Both women are lawyers but neither seems to understand the concept of ‘innocent before being proven guilty.’ It’s shocking how little regard either of them have for the rights of their constituents and the American people.

Both Hassan and recently Ayotte believe in the outrageous Cap and Tax program that does nothing for the environment but everything to hurt consumers, taxpayers and businesses. Both women pander to women because they believe women aren’t the brightest bulbs on the tree. Ayotte recently put out an over-the-counter birth control bill that Democrats and other organizations formerly supported, until Republicans actually made the bill a reality.

Ayotte and Hassan differ when it comes to Planned Parenthood. They are one of Hassan’s special interest groups that she kowtows to but Ayotte wants to defund them, as they should be. Hassan accuses Ayotte of being a shill for the NRA all while Hassan is a shill for billionaire gun control addict Michael Bloomberg of failed, astroturfing Moms Demand fame.

Hassan hasn’t even identified where she stands on issues as a senate candidate. Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire sent a press release out just yesterday questioning this very same thing. From the press release:

Most candidates for office have a section of their website specifically devoted to policy positions. Surprisingly, even though she and her staff would have complete control over the information produced, nowhere on her website does she outline her positions on even the most basic issues facing our county. Why is she so hesitant to articulate definitive policy positions?

It is worth noting that her website does provide multiple opportunities to donate financially to her campaign.

Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire is calling on Maggie Hassan to immediately add a section to her website outlining her policy positions.

There is always something a bit illicit about any candidate who does not list their stance on issues. Hassan also doesn’t give town halls. This is where Ayotte has her beat. At least Ayotte does indeed give town halls for her constituents. It seems to be a trend with New Hampshire Democrats to completely ignore all of their constituents by refusing to give public town halls open to everyone. Hassan hasn’t done that as governor nor has she done that as a senate candidate.

Neither Hassan nor Ayotte will represent Granite Staters. Neither woman is a good candidate. Neither New Hampshire nor the country will be better off with either of them in the senate seat. What should have been an historical senate race with two polar opposite women running against each other has turned into nothing more than a pathetic cat fight. The only real losers in this race are the residents of New Hampshire.
