Notable Quote – Professor Randy Barnett

[T]he paramount issue of constitutional legitimacy is whether the commands, not of the Constitution itself, but of government officials rendered pursuant to constitutional authority, are binding in conscience on us.  The answer to this question will depend on the quality of the lawmaking and enforcement process that the Constitution establishes.  One of these qualities is adherence to a written constitution by those who speak and act in its name, a commitment belied by unwritten changes to the meaning of the Constitution.

– Georgetown University Law Professor Randy Barnett ( Restoring the Lost Constitution).

Too many politicians, especially on the Left, say that determining what is Constitutional or not is not their business – it is to this fallacy that Barnett speaks.  When our “leaders” no longer acknowledge the primacy of our Constitution(s), we are no longer abiding within The Rule of Law – we have passed backwards (even as they talk about progressing FORWARD!) to a more dangerous time: The Rule of Men.

And isn’t that the reason we had a Revolutionary War?
