Yesterday the 30th annual Gun Rights Policy Conference began in Phoenix, Arizona. The conference is held by the Second Amendment Foundation and the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. The conference continues to grow with this year’s being the largest to date.
Second Amendment activists come to the conference from all over the country to hear speakers and discuss various issues and activism in their own states. The first conference was held in 1986 when there was only one state that had ‘Constitutional Carry’ whereas today there are several. Billionaire hoplophobe Michael Bloomberg was a hot topic of discussion.
Many speakers from various states spoke about the out-of-state anti-2nd Amendment paid employees being shipped into their state to push gun control. Not only did Bloomberg and his billionaire cohorts like Bill Gates and the nefarious George Soros spend millions to take away the rights of Americans but in most cases, they lost. And the lost because of the volunteer grassroots efforts of Americans across the country.
Speakers talked about everything from the lies that are told by the gun control crowd to the lack of honest reporting by the media. Legislators are often clueless about the current gun laws that already exist and it’s the job of activists to inform them of the truth. Once your legislator knows the truth, if they still choose to ignore it, get them on record so you can inform their constituents.
There was a panel of lawyers discussing cases across the country in which they were fighting against outrageous gun control laws as well as a panel of doctors who discussed mental health and emergency preparedness. John Lott Jr of the Crime Research Prevention Organization talked about the facts versus fiction that come from the gun control crowd.
Lott explained how Bloomberg and his fellow gun control billionaires spend millions on studies that don’t provide the full information about firearm statistics but how they pick and choose information that fits their narrative. It’s easy to tear apart their false information by looking into all of the details to see what they neglected to include.
Lott also talked about the increasing support for gun rights across America. Poll after poll show that people now believe firearms in the home not only make them safer but don’t want more restrictions put on their ability to defend themselves. Proof that more people are interested in gun rights over gun control is the attendance at the Gun Rights Policy Conference. When this many people travel from across the country to discuss their 2nd Amendment rights and how to keep fighting for them, the winds of change have shifted.
The gun control crowd is going to keep pushing their false narrative because it’s about control. If gun control was about safety, states with the strictest gun control would be the safest, they aren’t. The event continues on Sunday with more speakers and activist training.
