Why did Hassan push Planned Parenthood vote rather than investigate?

Today was the much anticipated vote of New Hampshire’s Executive Council on the funding of the over $600,000 Planned Parenthood contract. In light of the recent and horrific videos that show Planned Parenthood harvesting human baby body parts, many in New Hampshire were outraged that the organization was getting any money from taxpayers at all.

Given the very long history of Planned Parenthood’s despicable behavior, it doesn’t come as a surprise the Executive Council voted against funding their contract. Of course, Councilor Chris Pappas claims the videos were fake. Clearly he didn’t watch any of them. Either that or he truly doesn’t mind that hands, feet, hearts, livers, spines and anything else harvested from human babies is being indeed harvested.

Governor Hassan has long been financially backed by Planned Parenthood. She also released a statement claiming she is for a “woman’s right to make her own healthcare decision.” Ironic since Hassan supports Obamacare in which women are no longer truly allowed to make their own healthcare decisions.

Executive Councilor David Wheeler had asked the governor if she would pull the contract request so Planned Parenthood could be investigated and she refused. Why is that? If they have nothing to hide, then they certainly wouldn’t mind an investigation.

Because Hassan refused to hold off on the funding until an investigation was launched, the vote went forward and the Executive Council shot down funding the contract by a vote of 3-2. The only votes for it were Democrats. Given the barbaric evidence in the videos that have come to light, it makes sense to tread lightly when allocating over $600,000 of taxpayer money to an organization that is now being seen by all circles as quite disturbing.

The vote comes a week after a large “Women Betrayed” rally was held to defund Planned Parenthood. As Councilor Wheeler said in his letter to Hassan:

This isn’t a matter of being pro-choice or pro-life. It’s about making sure that tax dollars are not being used to support criminal activity.

The council wouldn’t have voted on the funding until it was clear that Planned Parenthood isn’t engaging in any illegal activities. Governor Hassan brought this vote on herself and now she’ll continue to lie about women’s healthcare being at stake. Meanwhile the council voted to fund other clinics in the state who aren’t being accused of harvesting human baby parts illegally.
