"Hillary...would use force to repress religious teachings and practice." - Granite Grok

“Hillary…would use force to repress religious teachings and practice.”

Hillary: Laws have to be backed up with resources and political will. And deep-seated cultural codes, religious beliefs and structural biases have to be changed.”

From a piece: How We, as POWs, Responded to Communists Threatening Our Religious Liberty.  Now read the quote from Hillary above again, and then read the closing from that piece

This is why I feel so strongly about the First Amendment. I believe the First Amendment is now under attack. Recently Hillary Clinton gave a speech in which she insinuated, repeatedly, that many religious beliefs are outmoded because these beliefs are contrary to many objectives of her agenda.  Accordingly, she suggested that government will need to force religious leaders to change these ancient teachings to fit modern laws. Hillary is suggesting that, as president, she would use force to repress religious teachings and practice.

This is no better than the offer the Communists gave us. Asking the insurance company to pay means arranging for something which they believe is morally forbidden. We don’t need to accept this.

I would tell Hillary: “No. The people will need to force political leaders to change these modern teachings to fit the First Amendment.” Like the POWs, every decent person must resolve to give not an inch to this structural bias against Christians and Jews. Borrow that phrase popular among her ‘60s generation of “progressives”: Hell no, we won’t go.

GO READ THE WHOLE THING to get the jist of it – and remember this line from former Vietnam P.O.W James Warner:

…in the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, as he died to make men holy let us die to make men free,” I heard it and understood. I cannot sing this song now without choking up, remembering my comrades willingly taking an action which might amount to signing their own death warrants.

From a politican, always devalue their words when compared against their actions.  However, in this case, I believe Hillary’s past give truth to her words concerning her future, and ours.  If she, in her heart, is willing to use Government force to demand and force people to change their beliefs, how different is she really, than those Vietnamese communists that tried to change the religious beliefs of those P.O.W.s?

And ask yourself the same question *I* was asked at the very beginning of being politically active in an Op-Ed labeled “Three Questions Asked and Answered“: What are you willing to die for?  Are you REALLY willing to die for your religious beliefs?  Are you willing, if Hillary is elected President and decides to actually change your beliefs, to stand such that you will have to make that decision – in front of your wife, your husband, your kids, your parents, your good friends?  What WOULD you stand for – and for what would you drop down onto your knees and into submission?
