New York Anti-gun liberal Democratic Representative Carolyn Maloney is leading the charge on HR 2546, a measure if enacted, forces gun owners to buy liability insurance or face a $10,000 fine.
The Firearm Risk Protection Act creates a new kind of insurance for gun owners.
Maloney told Fox News,
“For too long, gun victims and society at large have borne the brunt of the costs of gun violence… My bill would change that by shifting some of that cost back onto those who own the weapons.”
Nothing like assigning blame to law-abiding gun owners.
This year, California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania have introduced gun liability insurance legislation.
The Illinois House recently rejected legislation requiring people carrying concealed weapons to also maintain $1 million in liability insurance. Connecticut has also since withdrawn its version, as did Maryland.
Despite the reasoning that a liability insurance mandate on gun owners on a national level would prove nearly impossible to pass, Maloney is not backing down from the fight.
“We have a long history of requiring insurance for high-risk products — and no one disputes that guns are dangerous,” and, “While many individual states are debating this issue right now, it makes more sense for Congress to establish a national requirement to allow the insurance markets to begin to price the risks involved consistently nationwide.” Maloney insists.
Maloney has been a long time supporter of bans on so-called “assault weapons,” and “high-capacity ammunition magazines.” (“clips” for you stupid anti-gunners reading this).
It is more important than ever to key a watchful eye on Congress. Boehner cannot be trusted. He will stab us in the back. While the contemporary advocacy in Congress for renewal of an assault weapons ban has waned. Be ever watchful because there is a Gun Control package bill in play. The debate rages on in Congress as to whether or not lawmakers can agree to a system of near-universal background checks.

Its New York! How can anyone argue that national legislation with a big apple cultural paradigm is good for the rest of the country? Just another left-wing progressive gun control hoplophobe in office.
Katherine Clark, Democrat, Massachusetts, 5th District. This is almost a cliché…Bay State Liberal, Anti-gun, city dweller, career hack, and a lackie in concert with Maloney. When the word, “Masshole” enters the political lexicon, she makes the grade. Being the “noob” in Congress, she found the Charlatan Maloney to be soothing company in a Congress dominated by Republicans.
But she is in good company to hold out hope to the RINO’s in Congress who give face time to Gun Control measures.
Raul Grijalva, Democrat, Arizona, 3rd District. This guy is like Obama in that he began his career in public service as a “community organizer” in Tucson. His website states, “Throughout his career, Raúl has always fought for underrepresented voices…” perhaps he means, “illegal aliens?” Also known for his militant activism.
As a member of congress now for over a decade, this progressive fights for all things, “progressive.” Gun control, Bilingual education, higher taxation, and giving those here not legally, the right to vote. Viva LaRaza!
Stephen F. Lynch, Democrat, Massachusetts, 8th District. Living proof that Union hacks are progressives, Lynch and his working-class background plays well with the unwashed, come election time. From Union iron worker to political hack, Lynch like Clark, is your typical “Masshole” politician.
In the Bay State, if you have two persons listed by name only running for office, and you have to guess who will win, it will always be the credentials likened to Lynch or Clark. Gun Control is no different.
Niki Tsongas, Democrat, Massachusetts, 3rd District. What’s in a name? She holds the seat her late husband held decades before. And, like her counterparts, another reliable gun control liberal, haling from Lowell Massachusetts.
Where one is a strong advocate for socialized medicine and public healthcare, these people can be reliably depended upon for their support of taking rights away from the unwashed masses they claim to serve.
It should be pointed out that these people are lazy. Gun control legislation comes easy to them. There is no backlash for it within their uber-liberal, Kool-Aid-Slurping districts. Pass or fail, this stuff keeps getting them elected. This is why it is important to pay attention to elections in fly-over country. It is only those folks who will preserve our rights.
