A Society Where Idiots Have A Collective Voice

“Man as an individual is a genius. But men in the mass form the headless monster, a great, brutish idiot that goes where prodded.” Charlie Chaplin
Animal-Rights-Activist-001aIdiots. When presented with facts, idiots are those who stick with their own viewpoints, opinions and paradigms in the face of those hard cold brutish facts. Emotion rules the day and irrational behavior is given teeth. Witness, The killing of Cecil the Lion.

First, the hard cold facts. “Trophy Hunting” on the African Continent is extremely expensive. Many Americans (and folks from other countries) with the cash Animal-Rights-Activist-004(who also hunt) go on such excursions annually without a word about it. Hunting is used as a management tool to maintain healthy animal populations in Many African nations.
Nearly $201 Million dollars are pumped into the local economies because of Big Game Hunting. Meat from hunts is ( as required by law) to be given to local tribes and villages. In other words, People eat because of big game hunts.
According to a recent Time Magazine article, Conservationists recognize that trophy hunting contributes to the protection of the land. Bans on trophy hunting are in place in Kenya, Tanzania and Zambia. Those bans have been associated with an accelerated loss of wildlife, not the other way around.
The Africa lion population has been cut in half over the past 20 years.  Biologists assert, however this is not the result of trophy hunting. The decline comes through the classic drivers of extinction, such as habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict and disease. Here in NH we are losing our Moose to disease, not hunting. Same difference.
The Idiot creates First World Problems. Zimbabwe locals, as fate would have it, don’t care so much about the death of a lion. Quoted in a Conservative Tribune Animal-Rights-Activist-003Aarticle, Zimbabwean Information Minister Prisca Mupfumira, upon being asked about the death of Cecil, responded,
“What Lion?”
Tryphina Kaseke, A local Zimbabwean Clothing street peddler asked Yahoo News,
“Are you saying that all this noise is about a dead lion? Lions are killed all the time in this country, What is so special about this one?”
33-year-old father of two, Joseph Mabuwa added,
“Why are these Americans more concerned than us?” We never hear them speak out so vigorously when villagers are killed by lions and elephants in Hwange.”
Local populations view Lions, Elephants  and other large animals as dangerous.  If animals are not hunted, populations expand, bringing  about rampant disease and increased attacks on people.
Zimbabwe has larger issues to deal with such as 80 percent unemployment rate, monetary inflation that is off the charts and a corrupt ruling government. Enter the talking animal crowd and so-called “Animal Rights” activists who want to take remove that revenue stream from local Zimbabweans.
Idiots, even in the face of verifiable facts, still continue their scorched earth campaigns, Calling for the death of this American Dentist. Presently, there is nothing asserted anywhere that any laws were broken. Like most African countries who have heavily regulated game laws and ethics surrounding hunting, It would be fair to review and investigate the guides  who hosted the hunt to ensure all laws were complied with.
Absent that, the outrage over Cecil is nothing more than loud visceral, solipsistic nonsense. Like Ferguson and Baltimore we see a society where the mob rules for no other reason than they are loud and angry and uncivilized and without regard to the rule of law. Of late, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is pimping the Lacey Act in this bent. Not surprising with the bent of corruption the Obama Administration is now well-known for.
“Animal Rights” is a misnomer. “Rights,” are a purely human convention and do not exist in the animal worlds. If such rights existed, what about the Lion’s right to food at the expense of the Springbok…or what of the Springbok’s right to live without being eaten by the Lion? Its all utter nonsense.
No matter where one goes throughout the world, Hunting is highly regulated. There is a set of rules and ethics to be followed. Lines are indeed crossed and when that occurs people have to be brought to Justice.  Animal populations worldwide are healthy because of management, conservation and ethical hunting. Inversely, where we see some species in decline, that is often attributed to disease or habitat loss.
Animal rights groups do absolutely nothing to advance animal populations. On the other hand, it is the hunters who fund conservation efforts through the Wildlife Restoration Act of 1937 (also known as the Pittman-Robertson Act) monies from the act though purchases of hunting licenses and gear are distributed amongst the 50 states for conservation efforts. And with the spike in gun purchases and ammunition over the last three years, Pittman-Robertson funds are burgeoning.
In the face of all of this we will continue to see the name-calling, death threats, demands for arrest, and whatever arcane rant the talking animal left can cook up. They will ask for money for their own pockets, not for conservation. These people suck…they are corrupt, solipsitic and self-aggrandizing. Charlatans, fools and idiots and Kool-Aid Slurpers, all of them.
