And the DC Republicans are wondering why the base is angry – at them?

Again, if they were to act like they talked, if they were to vote as they say they believe, I could go on to other stuff.  But they are masochists – they just BEG us to use the club they give us.  And I’d really prefer to write about other stuff – but these are the nitwits I’m supposed to hitch my wagon to?  Getting more and more doubtful as the days keep walking by.  My last post talked about being disliked; it is becoming more and more apparent that, due to their own actions, they ARE being more and more disliked (emphasis mine from this Pew Poll):

The current survey finds that positive views of the GOP among Republicans have declined 18 percentage points since January, from 86% to 68%. Independents also view the Republican Party less favorably; 29% today, compared with 37% six months ago.

Among Republicans! Among Independents! This is what happens when you promise and don’t deliver.  Once again, I find myself talking about Trust – and we are now seeing the result of Republicans throwing that Trust away as it becomes more and more clear their actions are not matching their past and current words:

Campaign on to kill Obamacare and not deliver?  Campaign to stop Obama and now seen as aiding his agenda (or worse, being seen as passively allowing yourselves to be steamrolled, deliberately be patsies)?  Decisions have consequences and yours are now being found wanting.

And for all of the triangulations and polling and the rest, you are losing “the new base” you are striving for (the Independents) and if keeps up, even your fellow Republicans aren’t going to show up.  Actions, I say:

Now, consider what the Republican Party has done in that time.

  • They’ve refused to pass a late-term abortion bill in the House because a handful of members objected.
  • They gave Barack Obama a blank check to raise the debt limit.
  • They punted on Obamacare fights.
  • They’ve refused to defund Planned Parenthood.
  • They’ve taken retaliatory actions against conservative members who’ve stood up for Republican Party principles.
  • They’ve worked to fund the Export-Import Bank.
  • They have refused to stop Barack Obama’s ongoing assault against the free market.
  • They have passed the buck to courts to stop Obama on immigration, etc.

In short, the GOP has not fought. They have not been aggressive. They have been so scared of being disliked that they have become disliked. That is the reality.

And let’s not forget about immigration where it seems that Party Leadership is diametrically opposed to what the base wants – stoppage of illegal immigration and what we see as preferred treatment of them over Citizens.  They hold lots of hearings and such, and NO one at the IRS has lost their job over targeting conservatives.  They hold lots of hearings and NO action has been taken over the DOJ being weaponized against people who ostensibly are on the same side of aisle out here outside of DC.  We see department and department issue rules and regulations that are turning them, not from being servants, but into our Masters.

And the Republicans do nothing.  They obviously have learned nothing.

Or they really have become the Jr. Democrats that many of us are claiming them to be.  After all, action (or inaction) speaks FAR louder than words. They wail about Trump not playing their game.  What they don’t realize is that many of us out here aren’t refusing to play by their rules anymore either. They are not listening to “Winning is just a precursor – it is what you do afterwards that is more important”.  Obviously, they disagree with that.

I really wish I could be writing about something else….but if I don’t, who will?

And they have no comeback on this at all anymore.  Right?
