Trigger Warnings – this SHOULD have been the GrokTALK! WTF moment of the week but…

…the Supreme Court’s decisions pushed this down the list by far (like 1,2, 3…..and the next 25 slots were empty).  Yes, it is Precious Snowflake time again – those feminists that can’t bear the reality of reality and had to be told “Hey, somebody’s gonna say BOO!” and destroy your soul.  Serious, the issuance of “trigger warning” is now a trigger?  These females should not be allowed out in public, they are so weak-kneed (emphasis mine):

Well, it’s all come full-circle. According to the Feminist Internet, the phrase “trigger warning” is now in itself also a trigger.

The blog Everyday Feminism recently re-published an article explaining the idea of “trigger warnings” to those of us who are not as culturally literate and sensitive as they are, and began it with the following disclaimer:

Like this phenomenal article, Everyday Feminism definitely believes in giving people a heads up about material that might provoke our reader’s trauma. However, we use the phrase “content warning” instead of “trigger warning,” as the word “trigger” relies on and evokes violent weaponry imagery. This could be re-traumatizing for folks who have suffered military, police, and other forms of violence. So, while warnings are so necessary and the points in this article are right on, we strongly encourage the term “content warning” instead of “trigger warning.”

This is just plain absurd – and yet they want the rest of us to both take them seriously AND watch out for their trauma (and take them seriously)?  Who the heck do they think that are to demand such – and get upset that we think they can’t take care of themselves, that we believe that people like this should be allowed to inhabit that rubber room of their own making by themselves (and leave the rest of us alone)?

Yet, rising up from the ridiculousness of this behavior demand (which is beyond the pale in the first place, that we all should change OUR lives for their shortcomings instead of lifting themselves up from their perpetual fright of the world at large), is the larger issue…

Once again, with the Left (even this scaredy-cat wing of it), it is always about Control, as that first inch is always taken to a league length.  Acceding to this demand in controlling your use of the common language, and on topics that most normal people handle without a thought, will lead to others.  Refuse to accept it. Refuse this passive-aggressive bullying.

Remember, it’s not about just being polite – it is refusing to deal with adults that show by their very words they belong back in kindergarten.  Gently advise them of this – with mirth that they have Failed To Launch.
