CNHT hosts ten visitors from the Philippines

map-philippinesOn Wednesday June 10 CNHT hosted ten visitors from the Philippines who were in the United states for two weeks learning what they could from various political organizations and elected officials in NY City, Washington DC and little old Concord, NH at the CNHT Office on North Main St.

They wanted to know about our “Right to Know Law” as they currently have no such thing in their country – nor juries for trials.

I submitted a RTK request to the NH Secretary of State’s Office, on their behalf, for 10 copies of the New Hampshire State Constitution, which they eagerly read as I explained how our grass roots organization uses RSA 91-A, which is the statute that covers our right to open meetings and documents.

We went over the battle our activists in the Town of Atkinson went through in 2009, when the former Town Moderator stopped our CNHT Photographer, Gary Brownfield, from taking pictures at a Deliberative Session.

They were very interested in the Town of Windsor Selectmen letting 22 friends and relatives not pay property taxes for at least ten years – under the watchful eye of the NH Dept of Revenue.

And we covered voter fraud in NH.

Stay tuned for video of the one hour meeting. It was fun.

We are delighted to work with the World Affairs Council of New Hampshire and look forward to more visits from international organizations and individuals who want to see how laws and courts really work at the municipal level here in New Hampshire.
