The Coös County job creation tax credit is on the top of the committee’s list for evaluation in 2015. The credit is also part of a new piece of legislation that would expand the program into a second New Hampshire County.
Is this wise?
Since the tax credit’s inception in 2008, the labor force in Coös County has decreased by ten percent. The total number of people employed is down by over 17 percent. There are 1,750 fewer people in the workforce and 2,750 fewer persons employed.
