Senator David Pierce to NH women: I’ll decide which issues are ‘Women’s Rights’

hosmerpierceYesterday Bill Wynne of Goffstown Today posted video of the New Hampshire Senate vote on SB 116. The video is almost 50 minutes with Susan Olsen from the Women’s Defense League of New Hampshire reporting at the beginning and end. As previously reported, the bill, aka “Constitutional Carry” was passed along party lines by a vote of 14-9. There was a lot of misinformation spread from New Hampshire Senate Democrat David Pierce which has already been debunked.

About half way through the video, starting around 20:43, Senator Andrew Hosmer, already being railed against for hismisogyny, brought up the issue of the bill being a pro-choice, “Women’s Rights” issue. Hosmer brings up that women have stated that SB 116 confirms a woman’s right to choose to protect themselves. In their kabuki theatre performance, you see Hosmer and Pierce talk about this issue. You would think it was a comedy if they weren’t dead serious.

Senator David Pierce discusses how he got an email from a woman asking why he hates women so much because he won’t support this bill. Pierce then claims that painting SB 116 as a women’s rights issue is a “red herring.” Apparently male Democrats are now the “deciders” on what women feel are their rights in New Hampshire. He makes the claim that women aren’t treated differently when trying to get a pistol license. Yet he heard testimony from a woman during that Senate Judiciary Committee hearing that she was indeed discriminated against.

Pierce states that women fighting for SB 116 are just a “distraction.” Pierce actually said that women fighting for SB 116 are “insulting to an intelligent debate” because HE doesn’t believe it’s a women’s rights issue. What exactly do you call issues that women are fighting for that directly affect them? Pierce and his fellow Democrats and fellow gun control extremists have continually lied and used false statistics as reasons to vote against SB 116. Is that what Pierce calls intelligent debate? It’s interesting that a male Democrat has decided what women’s rights are suddenly. Obviously Pierce doesn’t hold women in very high esteem and you’ve already seen how Senator Hosmer treats women.

Senator Sharon Carson brings up the testimony of the women who was denied a pistol license at the hearing. The woman had sat in the hearing for over 4 hours so she could tell her story. All of the male members of her family got their pistol licenses but the police chief in her town didn’t give her a pistol license because he said she didn’t need it. Yes she pressed for it and was able to get it but there was no reason for the chief to not grant it in the first place. Pierce heard this testimony as well but didn’t remember, of course, and decided all on his own that this woman probably wasn’t telling the truth.

SB 116 gives women the choice of obtaining a pistol license or not. SB 116 allows women who are legally allowed to purchase and possess a firearm to instantly concealed carry rather than wait 14 days in order to protect themselves and their children. SB 116 stops any discriminatory profiling from police chiefs across the state. The original intent of the pistol license was indeed to discriminatorily profile and it is still serving in that capacity today and it does indeed affect women.

Take the time to watch the entire video. It is clear from the New Hampshire Senate Democrats’ testimony that they seem to loathe their constituents. The majority of Granite Staters, including women, support SB 116 yet every single one of these Senators voted against the majority. They called this bill “radical” yet the original intent of the law is what was radical. To these Democrats, it’s okay to discriminatorily profile when it fits their narrative.

These Democrats are some of the same people who don’t want women to have to wait 24 hours for an abortion but an abused woman or a woman being stalked has to wait 14 days in order to protect herself and her living children away from her home. These are some of the same people who don’t want 14 year olds to have to get parental consent when getting an abortion but they want to force adult women to get the “permission” of a complete stranger (the majority of whom are male in New Hampshire) in order to protect themselves and their children.

SB 116 is indeed a women’s rights issue. All you have to do is ask the women who are fighting for it to be passed.

Watch the video here.  You can go to 20:43 to see the ridiculous statements from Pierce.
