Why should you oppose a constitutional convention?
No matter who gets elected as a delegate to any constitutional convention the moment they are chosen they become a “politician.”
As politicians they will be subject to the same pressure by the same people who have encouraged politicians to ignore the Constitution we already have.
Opponents of the limits imposed by the exiting Constitution have more money and more activists and are better at organizing, messaging, and applying pressure to politicians than we have ever been- there is no reason to suggest that will change.
Once a convention is convened they can and will do whatever they want and you will not be able to stop it.
And finally, even if by some miracle the convention were able to improve the constitution, what makes anyone believe that the same people who allowed the same politicians to ignore the last Constitution will stop them from ignoring the new one?
The problem IS NOT the Constitution we have.
