UN Climate Chief Announces “We Are Remaking The World Economy”

The United Nation’s climate chief says that reordering the global economy to fight climate change is the “most difficult” task the international body has ever undertaken. Christiana Figueres, who heads up the U.N.’s Framework Convention on Climate Change, told reporters, “This is probably the most difficult task we have ever given ourselves, which is to intentionally transform the economic development model, for the first time in human history.” Figueres continued, “This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years–since the industrial revolution.”

And I will add, the one that has boosted more people out of abject poverty than any other in the world’s history.  But, like all Smart People, she believes she and a handpicked few others can  make FAR better decisions for the world’s billions that those billions can for themselves.  Such hubris – I would NEVER think so highly for myself that I could even BEGIN to think that I could make decisions better than even a few million could operating independently.  Yet, folks like her and Obama are still wedded to the Centralized model even as the Distributed one has shown itself to be more capable, more resourceful, more efficient, and a much broader reach.  In this, they show that they know far less than they give themselves credit for.

I guess, too,  they are ignoring ClimateGate and that their own IPCC is starting that slow walkback from its dire predictions of Doom & Gloom NOW.  And the newest climate scheming as well that is unraveling the climate warnings as well (it’s not nice to play with original data, fellows).

But that is the side issue – the real issue is, once again and from an American’s perspective, I elected NONE of them to make changes in MY life.  These are not my representatives as I have not casted any vote for any of those that sit in their halls.  In fact, most of countries represented are run by the worst despots and klepto’s in the world.  They aren’t interested at all in “climate change” and stopping it – they’re only looking at what matters to them – graft.  Lots of it.  Billions of bucks.  Trillions – from those “sad sacks of the West” that are overcome with self-guilt and some idea that we’re about to kill GAIA.

This is a con-game several ways to Sunday – and beyond.  But I digress.  Did you catch that phrase (hard to do – I bolded it): “we have ever given ourselves“.  Such a good idea – for them.  Not so much for us. Unelected, unaccountable – and be absolutely sure that she WILL be determining our standard of living if given any kind of a chance.  This is the Administrative State writ large.  For a more contemporary visualization, think Hunger Games and the UN is the Capital. We wish to give up our soveignty for this mindset?  It’s always about the money and following it.

After all, is Christiana Figueres will to forgo her large renumeration and just give it to the poor?  Is she willing to act in a manner that says “I’m leading the way – personally!”?  Naw, never.  She’ll go on living her carbon rich lifestyle as always and it’s doubtful we’ll see her in the sackcloth she will expect us to don.
