I understand why she did it but isn’t this just copycatting Democrat identity politics?

And we will LOSE every time that we ditch our principles and adopt them – even if it is just to show different shaped faces and skin colors.  From the UL (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Disparate Republicans by Shane CorcoranDuring the fever pitch of last year’s elections, one of Renee Plummer’s friends made an off-the-cuff comment about Republicans being a bunch of “old, white guys. “It was an “ah, hello” moment for this Republican businesswoman from Portsmouth.”Ah, you’re talking to me here,” she recalls responding. The exchange inspired Plummer to come up with her image of Republicans. Off the top of her head, she named a handful of Republicans who do not fit into that “old, white guy” stereotype. The project escalated quickly: Capture the five in a portrait photograph, and attire them each in jeans and a white shirt.

Each of the five, she said, understood her vision…”I think she hit the nail on the head,” said Stiles. “She shared the diversity within the party and the importance of diversity.

Sure, diversity is important – backgrounds, history et al.  But  just showing that picture, the diversity that is shown is gender, race, and sexual orientation will be good for Republicans?  While I understand the effort put out by Renee Plummer, it seems to be (excuse the phrase) a pale edition of the Democrat version of “diversity” where their definition of diversity is only (and literally) skin deep. Sorry, but that’s not the diversity that counts for their ideology is lockstep – groupthink but only around the idea that Government should be used to change others’ behaviors and take their Private Property when they believe “they can better use it” than those that earned it.

And each and every time Republicans decide to go and be Democrat-lite, they either lose (or end up acting like Democrats).  What is better is to get the messaging right as to WHY Democrat ideas and actions are oriented to telling you how to live your life and not allowing you to make those decisions yourself.  WHY Democrat ideas and actions will actually cost you instead of, as they try to say, “liberate” you.  They used to complain about Republicans “being in your bedroom” – and now they make you pay for me being in mine AND demand consent for me to be in mine to boot!  The list could go on and on.

Pictures are fine but it is ideas that are the epitome of diversity and I’d put ours up against the Socialists’ version any time.
