Are Stay At Home Parents Robbing the Government of Revenue?

taxmanDemocrats may not admit this but they believe it all belongs to the government.  All of it.

“You didn’t build that” is the bumper-sticker slogan of Marxists everywhere.  You can’t do it without them, you didn’t do it, to which we could add ‘How dare you do it.”  And for the record, any little bit they let you keep is either a privilege or an accident whose shelf life could depend on how appreciative you are of this indulgence or your tolerance for being lorded over by your self-proclaimed betters.

Modern Progressive governance bears a striking resembles to Feudalism.

The latest evidence that this is how the left thinks comes to us from New York Times Blogger Josh Barro.

The tax code is already hugely distorted in favor of stay-at-home parenting: Labor outside the home is taxed; household work, such as stay-at-home parenting, is not.

Is this an admission that parenting is actually a job?  That would be progressive.

But let us not allow that to distract us from the big picture.  If you do it yourself you are denying the state the opportunity to collect taxes on that labor.  That is an implied claim to state-ownership of all your activity.

Someone better call Home Depot. ‘Lets Do This’ has officially become a form of tax evasion.

A big heads-up to those of you in the northeast who just removed all that snow, or are still removing it, without the aid of a state employee or someone taxed for that activity.   I hope you recorded the hours so you can put that on your 1040 under taxable labor.

And, how does this square up with six years of Obamanomics “creating or saving” tens of millions of stay-at-home Americans who have given up or not bothered looking for work because there are no taxable jobs to be had?  Didn’t that distort the tax code, and isn’t government to blame?
