Really - Jack Flanagan (NH House "Majority Leader") wants us to play with him? - Granite Grok

Really – Jack Flanagan (NH House “Majority Leader”) wants us to play with him?

Heh!  This ought to be fun.  First Jack Flanagan goes after an activist (and ‘Grok friend) by calling him a Democrat Lemming  (wrong thing to do, btw) and then decides to slag us at the same time.  Well, stay tuned as we can play this game all. day. long.  And Jack Flanagan? Is that REALLY how you treat your constituents?  Really?

From an email thread sent to me (mostly anonymized, emphasis mine).  It starts off with an activist telling their House Reps voting the right way by voting NO on the rule change that would have made it much harder to have roll call votes on motions / Amendments / Bills.  First to all

While roll call voting is not necessary for every single item that requires a vote, if someone in the legislature feels it is important or helpful or appropriate to have a roll call vote so WE can know how YOU are voting, it should not be made more difficult than the standard that is currently in place to do so. Voting to make it more difficult by increasing the number of people it takes to second the motion for a roll call  =  voting for secrecy, enabling yourself to “hide” from your constituents, dishonesty, non-transparency, distrust and division. Why would you want to do that unless you have something to hide. We have the absolute right to know what is going on up there and by whom.

VOTE NO ON THE RULES CHANGE. VOTE NO.

I agree whole heartedly – you REPRESENT us and if we can’t verify how you vote, we can’t know how well you are representing us.  If it all.  And then just to their reps:

I sent this to all reps, but you two were elected to be MY reps, so I thought I’d send it again directly to both of you. Please read it and please respect its intent. In an “honest world” this is not a threat to those so graciously doing the people’s work. Please don’t make Concord mirror Washington. What hope have we if that happens. In a democratic REPUBLIC there should be no secrets from we the people. Represent your constituents, vote as you will and “man up” by showing your cards.

Respectfully,

And then our friend decided to answer have a conversation with all involved – and answered Jack Flanagan directly:

God bless you for doing this. You have addressed what we all feel, but your message is far more eloquent than what I, or others, might have composed.

Because of the actions of the Jasper-Flanagan duet I feel rather embarrassed to be included in the constituency of Hills. District 26. At least when Melanie Levesque was representing our district we knew what to expect.

… you are absolutely correct re: “Please don’t make Concord mirror Washington”! However, it appears Flanagan is ready to represent NH CD2 in the next election (If there is a ‘next election’)

Jack [Flanagan]: Did you, too, sell yourself out for 30-pieces of silver? Are you aware that Democrats, and a handful of Republicans, put Jasper and YOU in power? You sold us out, sir!!

God bless <you>, God bless New Hampshire, and God bless the United States of America!!!!

Respectfully,

And then Jack Flanagan (jbflanagan3@gmail.com) decided to slag this constituent back (emphasis mine):

I will tell you what. when you stop acting like a Democrat Lemming and contact me directly, I will have a little more respect for your request. Following people who claim to be conservatives blindly doesn’t seem right when they are wrong most of the time!

For your and others information, I contacted your beloved leader Bill,(if you want to call him that) and told him he should reach out to the Gene Chandler supporters, which he didn’t.  He then proceeded to push his rule change and a bunch of people couldn’t get far enough away from him.  The final nail was when we went into caucus during Organization day and I offered to speak on his behalf and support him.  This was after 7 hours of voting.  He told me he didn’t need me to speak.  Understand he only needed about 4 votes to win.

Bill O’Brien lost the Speakership all himself.  Jasper did not accept any nomination until after the first vote too!

Regardless, John, if you think the Granite Grok or Al Baldasaro are these great sources of information you are WRONG! Big Al was next to me when I offered to speak for Bill. But I am in the wrong.  He is a hypocrite.

Sold you out my ASS!

All respect due,

Jack

Touchy, touchy there Jack.  Did your constituent get “under your skin”?  My, my – I thought I’d never see it in my lifetime.  That’s right – someone with thinner skin than Obama!  Tell you what, Jack – I’m answering you direct – something that you demanded of someone else but refused to give us the same courtesy?  Tsk, tsk, tsk – bad form, old chap!  I’ll ignore the “accept any nomination until after the first vote” for now (mostly because it would have gone nowhere – the Dems were too smart to show their hand from the get-go).

But that part about us (“the Granite Grok or Al Baldasaro are these great sources of information you are WRONG!”)?  First, to fill in your OWN knowledge gap, it is GraniteGrok – one word.  Do your homework.  Second, you sound like those that criticize Fox News – but never read it.  OK, here’s the challenge for you, Jack – yes we do a lot of opining and that can be subject to discussion (although standing on rather solid footings of both Constitutions and the GOP Platform values, I think we’re on pretty good foundational material), I would LOVE you to point out WHY you consider us to be a poor info source.  Go ahead – because I know you can’t.  Period.

No, you simply allowed your emotions to show what seems to be your only best side – and I opine that is rather shallow.  I really think you’d be on a Mission Impossible – and I think you know that from the get go.  It isn’t because we are info-poor but that we are going to be holding you accountable for all and any actions you take that we can see.  I think it is because you hate the Big Flashlight you’ve now asked to be on you.

Remember, you asked us into your house and not the other way around.  Now, be a great guy and go get us a sammich, eh?  A icy cold Mtn Dew would go well with that, too.  Now, go run along.  Maybe by the time you come back, we’ll have another layer of skin for ya.

And remember, we never hide – will you just to save your sorry behind? Or to salvage whatever pride you might have left that limply waves in the breeze?  You wish to fight, bring it.  You want a discussion – come on GrokTALK! and bring it. No?  That’s alright, we have lots of sources that are willing to bring us stuff – and we’ll just see how this game plays out.
