Where Is The Media Coverage of The Windham NH School Board?

Dodging Windham School BoardWhen the Windham School Board voted to”ban” dodge-ball over concerns of bullying two years ago it made state-wide and national news.  When the Windham School board bullied a resident (and even called the police) to prevent objection to their rushed vote on a sketchy no-bid contract for $577,000.00 dollars, nothing?

New Hampshire’s Old-Man-Media-Mountain is not interested?

Kimberly Morin, Examiner.com, GraniteGrok.com, Girard at Large, and GrokTALK! have extensive coverage.  I’m still looking for evidence in the old media and that includes Tony Schinella at Windham Patch (and his Patchy brethren).   They share stories and claim to cover Local News, Community, Sports, Shopping, Restaurants, Things to do.  Why not this story?

The chairman of the board stopped the meeting.  He ordered the cameras turned off and called the police–to silence a resident.  They then reconvened the meeting and voted (without any public input) to approve a $577,000.00 dollar no-bid contract (very likely in violation of state law) despite strong evidence presented by an actual board member that should have warranted a delay on the vote.

Windham Patch did post an editorial on Jan. 16th by a candidate for the Windham School board who is interested in resolving issues with secrecy and increasing obstruction of public input by the board, but there is nothing about the events of last few weeks.

Who do you need to poke and with what sized stick to get cronyism and corruption covered by the so-called professional watchdog media in New Hampshire?

Note: A scraped link to one of Kimberly Morin’s Examiner stories can be found in the NewHampshire.com (Union Leader) digital universe under “NH Angle” but if you search ‘Windham’ for the past 14 days at the UL there is no other mention of the story.

There is another meeting this Tuesday.  I wonder if the old media can find time to send someone?   I know the new media will be present.
