Bumped for Charlie Hebdo: Draw Mohammed Day – Part 3. I guess I’ll never get to this, though…

Bumped from 5/20/2010 – another post.  Even this “benign Mohammed” is sufficient to put some Muslims into a rage – Shariah Law has NO concept of Free Speech and NO Concept that that others may not worship him as they do.  But that’s the point – Islam means “Submission” and that is what is both demanded and required of EVERYONE.  There is no Choice and no Freedom to dissent.

No wonder many on the Left cozy on up to them – those whiffs of authoritarianism in telling others how to live their lives under their rules.

But who knows….

Still, even if as well done as this, with no bad intention meant (and a copy of an American iconic painting, Normal Rockwell, to boot) , there are those that hold, under pain of our deaths, that no one should not be able to do this as it is blasphemous to them.  Even if it is a religion to which I do not ascribe, I am  (and you too!) are to give up our Freedom of Speech because it offends someone else.

Yet, their speech, of which I believe is offensive, is perfectly fine.  Hypocrites…

Gee Progressives seem to get just as peevish…and as has been seen here on the ‘Grok, hardly a small step less vindictive as well (“No apology will ever be sufficient”) if they are offended.  Ask that reporter in Maine, ask the folks in California that were targeted for supporting Prop 8.  Think about those who have been hauled into court for supporting the right of the unborn to be born.  Think of the slime process that those that wish to return to our Constitutional roots, the TEA Party, and undergone (and the violence perpetrated by the Lefty SEIU with the beating of black conservative, Kenneth Gladney).

Think of Obama, the leader of the Free World, using Alinsky’s Rules to ridicule and silence his opponents – other Americans who merely disagree with his Progressive / Marxist views.

So, what’s the difference?  Silencing speech is silencing speech – regardless of the reason or the method.
