“You don’t need that” – a mark of someone that hates your freedom

“They’ve riddled it with giveaways the super-rich don’t need, denying a break to middle-class families who do.  ‘Let’s close the loopholes that lead to inequality by allowing the top one per cent to avoid paying taxes on their accumulated wealth,’ the president demanded.  ‘We can use that money to help more families pay for childcare and send their kids to college.”

‘Will we accept an economy where only a few of us do spectacularly well?’ he asked later in his address, ‘or will we commit ourselves to an economy that generates rising incomes and chances for everyone who makes the effort?’

Obama first wants to hike the capital gains rate on couples making more than $500,000 annually, from 20 to 28 per cent.

ANY time you hear someone say one of these…

  • You don’t need that

  • I don’t know of anyone who says they need that
  • It’s about the quality of life“
  • It is the cost of civilization

…know that they believe they are the Smart People and have no regard for your outlook on things.  They know (I’ve never figured out HOW but they’ll tell you they just do) what is best for you (and you don’t).  You’ll never hear them say “No, I or we should not – YOU have the Freedom to decide; your choice”.  You’ll never hear them mention Constitutional Rights. No, that’s not how Progressives (aka, incremental socialists) roll.

Such is Obama – and he’s proud of it.  He’s confident and open that he believes someone else’s stuff should be his to control – and he’s proud of it.  He has the power to try to make it happen by his pen – and he’s proud of it.  He knows that there are plenty of his ideological persuasion that will support him – and he’s proud of it.

He also knows that with the constant flow from the Haves (simply because they have been Productive and worked hard) to the Have-nots, he is transforming the very nature of the American heart from a “Can Do!” nation to one of “You owe me!” and “You WILL support me!” –  – and he is very, very, VERY proud of that.

Note: I also take exception to this, which is ANOTHER “tell” of Progressives – the transformation of our common language into something it is not:

“will we commit ourselves to an economy that generates rising incomes and chances for everyone who makes the effort?”

Yes, redistribution will funnel money to others and that could be considered income.  But technically, it is simply a transfer, not income.  I detest the double standard of Progressives, especially that of Obama as they denigrate those that “have more wealth from income on their wealth” – yet just because he is involved, it’s OK for others to have “wealth from income from other’s wealth”?  At least with the rich, they (in the vast number of cases” have earned it themselves – they deserve the fruits of their labor.    These transfers – it is faux income; that is supposed to make them feel richer?  This is supposed to make them feel like they have “achieved”?  This establishes “self-esteem”?

This is honorable?  I just don’t “think not”, I KNOW “not”!  This is $dependency which is sapping the American spirit.  Why sacrifice, why delay gratification, why go without when Daddy Govt will provide all of the necessities of life?

And what about us “non-rich” – it affects us too.  A siren call of “hey chump, why work hard when you see your wallet hovered for the benefit of those that could work but don’t” (and yes, I know with a vengeance they exist and scam the system).

This is the legacy that Obama will leave.

Update – a couple more:

  • I have no idea why someone would want that
  • You would abuse that
  • I don’t know anyone that has that or wants to do that
  • How DARE you think, say, or do something that violates the Progressive orthodoxy?

Freedom doesn’t NEED anything – NEED has nothing to do with Freedom.  Freedom just is and needs no justification – which is what Progressives want you to do.  Don’t fall for that trap
