On today’s WMUR’s CloseUp, James Pindell is asked by Josh McElveen about Kelly Ayotte’s support of the events that led to the election of the Democrat appointed Speaker Shawn Jasper and her actions going forward. In doing so, Pindell lays plain what many “out here” believe to be true:
McElveen: If you are Kelly Ayotte up for re-election facing what could be a blood war against Maggie Hassan if she decides to run (a lot of people think she will), do you get involved in this at all, try to quiet things down or just stay out of it?
Pindell: I think she learned her lesson not to get involved in this at all. Look, she got involved in trying to pick the Speaker in the first place when she backed Gene Chandler along with a number of other people. That backfired on her. I think she’s going to step away from it. Ah, and the person who has really been stepping into it has been Jennifer Horn and I think Kelly Ayotte is going to be using [NH GOP Chair] Jennifer Horn as that person that tries to bring both sides together while she tries to stay above the fray.
