RINO Report Special Edition – What Is a Hess-Hole?

No More RINO's - RLCNH puts up the records they must run onAs we head toward a new session it is important to know who the Democrats are in the Republican party.  One example is (Republican?) David Hess, NH House, (Merrimack 24), who has a voting record on gun rights that is no different than if we had, say… Nancy Pelosi, Elizabeth Warren, or Diane Feinstein in the NH House.  Yes.  He is that bad.

Rep. Hess…

Voted for HB 1589 “requiring background checks for all firearm sales.”

Rep. Hess voted against allowing someone who was denied a handgun license to petition directly to the Superior court and skip the local process. (HB29, Roll Call #7, 1/4/2012)

Rep. Hess voted against allowing guns on college campuses and dorms, in athletic stadiums and public parks and beaches. This bill additionally restricted local communities from making local decisions regarding firearms in these areas. (HB334, Roll Call #11, 1/4/2012)

I should mention where I got this list.  Granite State Progress, the out of state funded 24/7/365 anti-Republican pro-progressive so-called non-profit advocacy group compiled this vote history.  If you could not guess, they love them some Hess-Hole on anti-gun votes.

Keep reading.  There is plenty more here to share.

Rep. Hess voted Not Voting/Not Excused exempting firearms, fire arm accessories, and ammunition manufactured in New Hampshire from federal law and regulation. A yes vote on this bill additionally made a state or federal official, who enforced a lawful federal regulation, guilty of a misdemeanor or felony. (HB125, Roll Call #12, 2/15/2011)

Rep. Hess voted against eliminating licensing requirements for N.H. residents to own and carry firearms such as pistols and revolvers, “whether openly or concealed, loaded or unloaded.” (HB536, Roll Call #14, 1/5/2012)

Rep. Hess voted against this “Stand Your Ground” or “Kill at Will” ALEC model legislation. Under existing law, a person in their own home does not need to retreat when they perceive a threat or are threatened; this bill extends that to public spaces — such as street corners, shopping malls, public parks and retail stores — and encourages the immediate use of deadly force. *ALEC Model Legislation* (HB210, Roll Call #62, 3/15/2011)

Rep. Hess voted against allowing the use of deadly force within one’s home. The Assistant Attorney General stated: “This (bill) is an impenetrable morass of law.” The bill would have granted the shooter immunity from criminal prosecution – including arrest, detainment in custody, or prosecution – and made it extremely difficult for law enforcement officials to fully and thoroughly investigate a case. (HB567, Roll Call #68, 3/15/2011)

Rep. Hess voted Not Voting/Not Excused allowing deadly weapons into the State House chambers. (This legislation repealed the right of the facilities committee to make rules and recommendations regarding the safety of legislators, visitors, school children and staff. It’s sole intent was to ensure deadly weapons can be brought into the State House.) (HB160, Roll Call #123, 3/30/2011)

Rep. Hess voted against allowing the use of firearms and fireworks in crowded, heavily populated cities and towns. (HB1341, Roll Call #130, 3/8/2012)

Rep. Hess voted against this “Stand Your Ground” or “Kill at Will” ALEC model legislation. Under existing law, a person in their own home does not need to retreat when threatened; this bill extends that to public spaces — such as street corners, shopping malls, public parks and retail stores — and encourages the use of deadly force without first requiring that an individual attempt to retreat to a safe place. This type of legislation was criticized heavily as a contributing factor to the Trayvon Martin shooting in Florida this past spring. *ALEC Model Legislation* (SB88, Roll Call #213, 6/1/2011)

After additional consideration, Rep. Hess firmly voted Not Voting/Excused overriding the Governor’s veto of “Stand Your Ground” or “Kill at Will” ALEC model legislation that encourages the use of deadly force in public spaces. *ALEC Model Legislation* (SB88, Roll Call #243, 9/14/2011)

The moral of the story is….A Hess-Hole is a bottomless pit into which RINO’s like David Hess throw your second amendment rights.

And hey–it’s never to early to remove him from office for it.  Election day 2016 is coming and the Hess-Hole should be going.  (It is sad he did not GO in 2014 but some turds just wont flush–if you get my meaning.)

In the mean time, let us ensure that all his votes, comments, and actions as a legislator from now till then are well reported so that people can easily find them from here on out.
