“Help the helpless” – not a problem. It’s the others I object to

From DCE over at Weekend Pundit:

I caught this from a Dennis Miller special – America 180 – I watched on Netflix last night:

I don’t mind paying taxes to support the helpless. However I do mind paying taxes to support the clueless.

Indeed.

Not only the clueless but those just living on “the system” because, well, they can.  Indeed, doubled down.  While the Left keeps demonizing the Right for saying that we don’t care, studies show that we do – and more personally as we believe that self-responsibility DOES require us to assist those in need to get them back on their feet.  However, that does not mean that we take care of them forever when they are perfectly capably of doing so themselves; it is the Left that disagrees with this, preferring to infantilize them as “victims of Society” and never really checking to see if that assumption is true (or, more the case, WANT to see if someone is taking advantage of the system).  No, all we hear is “you hate the poor”, yet they believe that only Government can do good works (aka, “the Collective”) and that voluntary efforts will ALWAYS be insufficient.  And with that, the Left is always pushing to raise the taxes which in a lot of cases, serves the purpose of “padding the hammock” for those on the dole.
