Hagel’s Other Mistake – Opposing Gitmo Releases

Obama seems to have badly misjudged Chuck Hagel, and it seems conservatives may need to re-evaluate Hagel, too.

Taken on as a token Republican fig-leaf and an expected rubber-stamp for Obama’s downsizing of the military, things began to unravel when the Middle-East situation became grave, and ISIS emerged from the power vacuum which Obama allowed to develop.

Horror of horrors, Hagel developed a conscience, started listening to the generals, and began speaking out about tackling ISIS. That would never do, and Hagel’s head was on the chopping block faster than a Thanksgiving turkey! (Headless Hagel cartoons)

But wait there’s more – turns out that Hagel opposed a few too many of Obama’s Gitmo releases, too, refusing to sign off on high risk releases. PJ Media has details:

The New York Times reported that “in the view of White House officials” Hagel “helped to thwart” Obama’s Gitmo liquidation plans by rescinding approval to repatriate four Afghan detainees – a decision that “annoyed” National Security Advisor Susan Rice.

I guess one could say that Emperor Obama was ‘Royally p!ssed’!
Never saw that coming! Bravo, sir!
