Our Federal Delegation's reaction to President Obama's Executive Order? - Granite Grok

Our Federal Delegation’s reaction to President Obama’s Executive Order?

So far, VERY quiet.  Have the day off today so I thought that I would call all four of our Federal Representatives (your choice as to whether they represent us or they are the representatives TO us from DC); I called their DC offices rather than a NH one (previous experiences have shown that the NH ones generally refer to Washington in issues like this).

Senator Kelly Ayotte:

Her Press Secretary, Liz,  was not available according to the receptionist that took my call.  She offered to send me to Liz’s vmail.  I did let her know that my previous call (another issue) was never returned.  She then offered to have me talk to the Deputy Press Secretary, Brianna – ended up leaving another voice mail (with my number & email).

Senator Jeanne Shaheen:

Anna was the receptionist that answered my call and when asked (like for all), announced I was from GraniteGrok.com.  This time, I did get to speak to Liz, her Press Secretary, who said that she would email the release that went out last nite and put us on her regular release list.

SHAHEEN STATEMENT ON EXECUTIVE ACTION ON IMMIGRATION

(Washington, DC) – U.S. Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) released the following statement following the President’s announcement that he will take executive action on immigration:

“Our immigration system is broken and needs a comprehensive, permanent fix. The reform bill we passed in the Senate more than 18 months ago with strong bipartisan support was the best way to address this problem. It invested in border security, reformed our visa programs and provided a tough, practical plan to deal with the millions of undocumented immigrants who are already here in the United States.

“It’s unfortunate that the House has refused to act on this bipartisan, comprehensive bill. If it were brought to the floor, I believe it would have the votes to pass. The House leadership should reconsider their opposition to this commonsense legislation while there is still time to pass this bill this year. Immigration reform is a national challenge that requires a long-term, comprehensive resolution by Congress.”

 Congresswoman Kuster:

Well, this did not go as well – Niel answer the phone when I called asking to speak to someone in the press area for her reaction.  While he did give me an email to use, I asked to be put through to her voice mail (was told she was not available).  Well, I guess HE showed ME who the Public Master is – got to listen to 10 minutes of the phone system’s on-hold music instead of that requested transfer to Rosie Hilmer’s voice mail.  So here is the email:

Wonder if I will receive anything?

Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter:

Will, the receptionist, immediately gave me the Press Secretary’s email (Marjorie.connolly@mail.house.gov)and did transfer me to her voicemail – which promptly announced to email her instead.  So, I did:

Good morning,
