Executive Amnesty – is the GOP going to fight Obama or is this another “Don’t make real waves” Kabuki theater on their part?

illegal alien signThis recent election saw more elected Republicans voted into office, top to bottom, than any time since Herbert Hoover.  Each and every poll that I have seen said why – just like in 2010 only louder and more angrily – stop Obama. They kicked the Dems out of more state legislatures and governerships than ever, sending the message that the electorate wanted the Dems stopped at the State level.  They strengthened the majority in the US House for the Republicans and gave them a majority in the US Senate.  The message?   Stop Obama and his policies.  Period.  Full Stop.  No Excuses.  We are tired of the “dense pack” efforts to fundamentally transform America via  the use of Alinsky’s Rule #8:

RULE 8: “Keep the pressure on. Never let up.” Keep trying new things to keep the opposition off balance. As the opposition masters one approach, hit them from the flank with something new. (Attack, attack, attack from all sides, never giving the reeling organization a chance to rest, regroup, recover and re-strategize.)

The base has had it – and sent a message to “do what it takes“.  We sent you there to do one and only one job.  Period.  Stop the dissembling of America.  Stop the Progressives from turning us into Europe (or worse).  Return to Constitutional order and bounds. We gave you more than enough ammo – get to work and we will accept no excuses.

Think of all of the programs that have infuriated Conservatives and those that also believe that the Constitution is almost bent out of shape, one after another after another.  Some legislative (like Obamacare) and many, many “Administrative Law” efforts (Fast and Furious, stopping of oil drilling, EPA regulations on emissions, Federalization of local zoning, Operation Choke Point to kill off small businesses, the effort to subvert due process in colleges, the IRS suppressing Free Speech, the EPA itself becoming cop, jury, judge, and legislature and threatening “the little people; the list goes on and on) – Obama’s issuance of his Amnesty Executive Order in which he totally assumes the role of both the Legislature, Judiciary, and Executive all into himself under the rubric of “I can’t wait” makes those complaints and assertions true.

Yet, we are now hearing one excuse after another – the DC GOP is acting like Executive Amnesty is the new Repeal Obamacare.  For years we heard “We’ll Repeal it!  We’ll repeal it – just need a majority!”.  We did that.  They passed bill after bill in the US House to repeal it.  Kabuki theater after the third time – but notice that the notion to defunding (one of the few Consitutional tools in their quiver) took a while.  Unfortunately, they ignored the primary advice of “If you are going to kill the King, KILL THE KING!” and they folded because Democrats and the media called them bad names and got a case of shaking knees.  They worried about how the bad press would annihilate them and tarnish them in the 2014 mid-term election.

Like I said, the voters said “Screw the Dems – STOP THEM”.  Now we see the same cowardly GOP worrying about their butts in those seats instead of doing what they took an oath to do – protect the Constitution.  They are putting politics above their legal obligation.  They are valuing their own future above “Do the Right Thing”.  Having just seen what the people voted overwhelmingly to do, they are listening, not to their base, but do the Democrats and the media in what to do.  The latter are saying “Look at what Bush and Reagan did with their E.O.s”, conveniently leaving out that those E.O.s actually had passed law ahead of them (e.g., Simpson-Mazzoli) – while Obama has no such foundation:

When he suspends deportations, and when he imposes his own conditions on those suspensions, he’s effectively re-writing the law. And that violates his oath to enforce and uphold the law as it’s been written. The American people, the Congress and the courts need to know that we have a president who will enforce the law. When he says ‘I will not enforce the law because I don’t like it or I’m impatient’, that doesn’t wash under the Constitution.

Pike-menIt just seems that the DC GOP “peeing our pants” weenies just don’t seem to be able to muster ANY political courage and seem to be running in any direction possible to avoid any kind of confrontation even with “the mob with pikes” are standing right behind them (cripes, why do I have to keep repeating this?) watching their six.  This from at The Corner formulates the complete woosiness and vapidity that will finally end up with “Hey, we only control both halves of one third of the Government – of COURSE we can’t do anything – my emphasis on those items that may have, once again, those pikemen not pointing outward but inward directly at those GOP butts:

  • Consequently, Conventional Beltway Wisdom holds that the “shutdown” will do extraordinary political damage to Republican election prospects for 2016.
  • Republicans tend to believe what they read in the Washington Post.
  • Republicans are, therefore, terrified of a “shutdown.”
  • Republicans are apparently oblivious to the fact that last year’s disastrous “shutdown” resulted in a Republican takeover of the Senate, the largest GOP majority in the House since WWII, control of two-thirds of state legislatures, and GOP governorships in super-blue Massachusetts, Maryland, and Illinois.
  • Republicans are similarly oblivious to the fact that Oregon voters rejected driver’s licenses for illegal aliens by a 2–1 margin.
  • Republicans are apparently unaware that Obama is more unpopular than at any point in his presidency and, post-Grubergate, has less credibility than Baghdad Bob.
  • A short-term hit in the polls in an off year is less consequential to Republican electoral prospects than the wrath of conservatives at a GOP – given a congressional majority  barely two weeks ago to, in part, thwart the lunacy emanating from the White House — that caves in its very first fight with a deeply unpopular president.
  • Media opprobrium in January 2015 is less consequential to Republican electoral prospects than millions of disgusted Republican voters staying at home in November 2016.

than the wrath of conservatives at a GOP… that caves in its very first fight with a deeply unpopular president” – The GOPpeers can only seeming see those in front of them than those that have propelled them forward.  And we are pissed.  Yes, at Obama and the Progressives that are changing our country into France and away from the vision that our Founders had – moving from one that raised up the Individual over their Government to one where Government is rapidly acquiring subjects.    These R politicians cried out “This is a tipping point!!” during their campaigns – so we supplied the fulcrum.

We expected them to use it in lifting this burden from us – and failing that, using that beam for smiting.  Instead, we are seeing them saw that beam in multiple locations so as to evade what we ordered them to do via our votes.

Are they up to the task?  Will they really put action to their words?  Or will they, after The Won’s (who Lost – got that Republicans, The Won is now The Lost?) words tonite, become Grubers themselves.

And we find out that we have been Grubered by “our own”?
