James ‘Candy Crowley’ Pindell – the Walkback Edition over Sullivan County brouhaha

New WMUR logoSorry, but Steve’s post title was too good to pass up on.  Yes, the truth wins out and Scott Brown was right and James Pindell was wrong about the geography of Sullivan County here in NH.  Or, the alternative view was that they are both right (Sullivan County is BOTH West and North of Concord, NH) but refused the fact that Northwest satisfies both conditions.  Any ways, James Pindell admits his mistake.

Here is where I’d ordinarily put up the video but I’m done wasting time dissecting WMUR’s code to yank it out, so I’m not even gonna bother  to link it (let them beat their own chests on it) but here is the transcript:

Now back to you inside, Josh.

Thanks very much.  Joined now by James Pindell, he was on the panel tonite.  A lot of people taking note of the exchange you had with Scott Brown.

That’s write, we were talking about the location of Sullivan County and I said that Sullivan County was west of COncord, not north of Concord.  The truth is, it’s both.  So on this point, Scott Brown.

Well, that’s all fine and good to admit wrong doing, but here’s my point – SURE, politicians should be challenged; THAT’S WHAT REAL JOURNALISTS SHOULD BE DOING!  My issue is that there were a lot of points during all of the WMUR debates that were let slide by with nary an upraised eyebrow by either the moderator or the panelists.  So why does it seem that only the right of center ones seem to be those caught up in a faux uproar?  Like that caused during the Candy Crowley moderated debate between Romney and Obama?  And now?
