One Journalist Executed Another Released

You’d be right to wonder what the differences are between the kidnapping and execution of James Foley and the kidnapping and release of Peter Theo Curtis.

Curtis is a reporter from Boston, whose recent release was reported in Germany as having been in exchange for something.  Victory Girls has the report as well as a list of questions.

  • Who exactly was holding Curtis?

  • Are they connected to ISIS?

  • Was it a negotiation, as reported by die Welt am Sonntag, or a rescue?

  • If it was a negotiation, what did the kidnappers receive in return?

  • If it was a ransom, who paid it?

  • If it was a prisoner swap, who were the prisoners?

  • And, of course, the Qatar connection. Because remember, the Obama Administration worked with Qatar to indirectly broker the release of Bowe Bergdahl in exchange for five dangerous Taliban members, in an effort, many have asserted, to look as if it weren’t negotiating with terrorists.

The news is bittersweet. If there were some sort of negotiation done involving the Obama Administration to secure Mr. Curtis’ release, directly or otherwise, you can bet that ISIS is watching with great interest.

Making deals with terrorists was never a good idea to begin with, but now we have a situation where terrorists are grabbing any American they can find in the hope that whatever they have is worth something to this administration.

That’s right.  Worth something to this administration.

Who among you doubt’s that the Obama Administration would negotiate in good faith with the same goals for a captured journalist who has favored their narrative over the years versus one who has not?

We should add that to the list of questions.  We’re there other factors that affected the willingness of this administration to go long on its new policy of rewarding some terrorist kidnappers while failing to reach agreement with others?
