Why is the Obama Administration downplaying the ISIS threat to the US?

ISISDavid French over at The Corner has 6 simple reasons why Obama should be trying to defeat ISIS NOW instead of waiting for their Jihad to hit us in a little while:

Let’s make this simple, shall we?

  1. Al-Qaeda carried out the deadliest attack on American soil in American historyand the most devastating foreign attack against an American city since the British occupied and burned Washington during the War of 1812.
  2. ISIS is more brutal than al-Qaeda.
  3. ISIS has more financial resources than al-Qaeda.
  4. ISIS controls more territory — and possesses more firepower – than al-Qaeda.
  5. ISIS has seized uranium in sufficient quantities to make a radiological weapon, a dirty bomb.
  6. The leader of ISIS declared to his former American captors, “See you in New York,” and ISIS militants have pledged to raise the black flag of jihad over the White House.

In other words, ISIS is more capable in every way than the terrorists that hit America so hard on 9/11.

We had previous warnings of Islamic Jihadists targeting the US well before 9/11 – Osama Bin Laden openly declared war on the US, the Twin Towers had already been bombed once before; they were telling us and we were deaf.  So ISIS is now warning us, has lots of money, a number of the Senators (like Feinberg and Graham) are already sounding the alarm, and Obama has only hit a few of the ISIS truck conveys on a 600 mile front and he thinks that is enough??  Or is this a case where he thinks TOTUS soaring rhetoric will stop them in their tracks – or that he just doesn’t care what happens?  It certainly seems that his attitude (as turned into action) is rather cavalier, as if his world view of inclusiveness will hold sway over a group of folks who cavalierly just bury alive 500 people who just happen to worship differently than what ISIS holds to be true (I wonder if Obama is down with their “leave, convert, or die” world view?).

Meanwhile, this from Instapundit shows clearly that Progressives (for Elizabeth Warren if nothing if not an uber-Progressive, giving rise to the meme of “You didn’t build that” philosophy now called Warrenism):

Meanwhile, Elizabeth Warren is predictable: “I believe that any solution in Iraq is going to be a negotiated solution, not a military solution.” Yeah, I kind of doubt that, Liz, unless you mean “negotiated after a painful defeat.”

Right.  Glad to see that Progressives believe that they still think they can just “talk” the evil out of Jihadists that behead people and laugh about it and put it up on YouTube and willingly bury people alive.  We’re in the best of hands, if our “leaders” believe this.

Which they do – they have little or no regard for religious views that others might have and I really don’t believe that they understand how religious fervor can drive people.  All one has to do is remember the disdain Obama had in stating his infamous “they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren’t like them?” when he talked about people that disagree with his world view.
