Democrats Obsessed with “Impeaching Obama”

keep-calm-and-impeach-obamaThis will not surprise anyone who spends time inside the sausage factory, but the majority of talk about impeaching President Obama is coming from Democrats.  They are obsessed with using it to fund raise, rile up the base, scare independents away from the GOP, whatever it takes.

But this is a lot like a media flack in a debate asking Mitt Romney his opinion on states banning Birth control?  No states were considering it.  It was a planted question whose purpose was to launch a planned narrative.  The Impeachment thing is no different.

From The Hill c/o Hot Air

Since the start of the 113th Congress last year, Democrats have used the word “impeach” or “impeachment” regarding Obama 86 times, according to a review of the Congressional Record by The Hill.

Utterances on the floor from Republicans about impeaching Obama, in contrast, have been relatively rare. Only three Republicans in this Congress have raised the subject on the House floor, and the words have been used a total of four times by GOP members.

The Democrat media has gone crazy with it.

According to Nate Silver, since January MSNBC has used the word 905 times to Fox News’ 213.

Silver does note that in 2006 Republicans  used fear of a Democrat impeachment effort against Bush to drive voters.

Back then, Fox News was more likely to invoke the specter of impeachment, with 374 mentions of the term from Jan. 1 to July 29, 2006, compared with MSNBC’s 206.

So Fox mentioned an Democrat impeachment threat of a Republican 161 more times in 2006 than they have the so-called Republican threat to Obama in 2014.

MSNBC mentioned the Democrat threat against Bush 206 times (similar to Fox in 2014), but over 900 times for Obama.
