Unity & “Good Republican” like Bill Greiner – a question for NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn & Minority House Leader Gene Chandler

Do_As_Youre_ToldI just read Steve’s post on Bill Greiner, and I am SO Confused.

  • NH House Minority Leader Gene Chandler famously said “Anyone with an R after their name is a good Republican” – so does that make Bill Greiner a Good Republican?  I’m supposed to think so (at least I’m TOLD to think that way).
  • NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn said this:   “That means starting today we must agree to respect our differences and work toward our common goals.”  and “There is room for our Party for every kind of Republican as long as you are a Republican.”  And this:

If you believe, as I do, in a Constitutional Government, I want you on our team.  If you believe that limited Government leads to unlimited opportunity, as I do, then I want you on our team.  If you believe that the First and Second amendments are placed at the beginning of the Bill of Rights on purpose for a reason, that Obamacare is an assault on our Freedom and Prosperity, if you believe, as I do, that our Constitution was written not to limit your Freedom but to limit your Government, then I want you on our team.

“Then I want you on our team” – Er, Gene and Jennifer?  What about those that go both ways?  Like Bill Greiner?  I am SO Confused.

For historical purposes, Alida Milham here in Belknap County used to run in both the R & D Parties come election and was recently the Belknap County Commission Chair, ostensibly as an R.  She publicly endorsed Democrats in the General Election over Republicans in the race for the NH House – I, for the good of the Party, am supposed to stand shoulder to shoulder with her?  I am SO Confused – shoulder to shoulder, or should it be “toe to toe” over Republican Principles waylaid?  But I digress.

But this Bill Greiner – is HE a Good Republican?  I am SO Confused here:

  • Bill Greiner has an R next to his name – ok, this makes him a Good Republican by the Chandler Rule, yes?
  • Bill Greiner writes big checks to GOP candidates – ok, this makes him a Good Republican by the NH GOP Chair Rule, yes?
  • Bill Griener  was also a Co-Chair for “Republicans for Nyquist” in 2012 – ok, this makes him a Good Republican by….what Rule?  In supporting a Democrat against Andy Sanborn?  Who do I get to tag with this new Rule – profess one allegiance while supporting another?  With MONEY even?

Yes?

I am SO Confused…I’d say no, but my Party seems to keep telling me I’m wrong And simply because we Groksters actually believe in the NH GOP Platform Principles, and want people to, you know, follow them – this makes us Bad Republicans?  Topsey turvy all inside out…

I know that Obama famously said that he was going to fundamentally transform America, but is his redefinition of American Standard English to support his goals extend to the NH GOP as well?  I am SO Confused…

Jennifer, Gene – is Bill Greiner really a Good Republican?

If so, does that mean that we should all go out and support some token Democrat so WE can all be Good Republicans, too?

I am SO Confused…
