Was Your Town HUD-Winked!?

Granite State Future - Organizing the end of your property rights in NHScott had a great article last Thursday that ties the Sustainable futures/HUD/Regional Planning Commissions to the latest man-caused disaster (Man used loosely as I am referring to President Obama).

He points out how rules you know nothing about (nor would you or your elected officials ever be consulted on) might result in your town having to take in and sustain however many illegal immigrants the Feds tell you to take because you signed up for a Granite State Future.

The Obama administration, in July 2013, quietly introduced a new regulation that critics say will dramatically increase Washington’s power over local zoning laws in every city and town that accepts federal block grants through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

And it’s the federal grants that could be used as a hook in the nose of these cities, forcing them to house illegal immigrants against their will.

Long story short (read Scotts post here for more extensive details) if you bought into Granite State Future, or Sustainable Development, or put your hand out for “free” HUD money, or in any way sold your towns soul to the regional planning commissions for a few pieces of sustainable development silver, you might be legally bound to take illegal immigrants if the Federal government says you have to.  (Along with the illness, disease, langauge barriers, additional unemployment…all part of your Granite State Future.  Giggle!)

Small print.  Faustian bargains.  Lots of strings.

As Scott observes, a) you should have paid attention, and b) not ignored us or worse–called us names or fought us for being the ones who paid attention and tried to warn you.

With the rumors of planes full of illegal immigrants pouring into Massachusetts, it is only a matter of time before the G-Men start leafing through their list of sustainable communities in New Hampshire to find places for the overflow from the Bay State.

I know, that will never happen, right up until it does.
