Jeanne Shaheen’s Tax Returns – There’s Something Missing…

Shaheen Robbing taxpayersJeanne Shaheen made a big show of releasing her tax returns, but I’m not all that impressed.  Shaheen is a one-percenter who has been in the US Senate for almost six yeas now.  Comfort is not an issue.   She will never have to think about her cable bill, or electric bill, or what she must manage to keep food on the table.  These will never be concerns for Jeanne Shaheen.  This makes the exclusion of certain fiscal facts related to her tenure in the US Senate, unacceptable.

Nowhere do we see the 20 trillion dollars ($20,000,000,000,000.00) in other people’s money that she “invested” as a US Senator in bureaucrats and boondoggles.

There is no indication anywhere in her “returns” that her whimsical “investment” of other people’s hard-earned money created an even larger annual federal budget other people will have to finance by force.

There is no mention of the nearly 8 trillion in new debt she has added on the backs of taxpayers, nearly doubling in five years the total debt that it took the prior 230 plus years to accumulate.

This is debt whose principle and interest will be paid for generations by other people who may never even know who spent the money before they had the chance to earn it.

There is no mention of the cost associated with food or fuel inflation that has plagued us throughout her term.  This is a hidden tax borne by middle and lower income families who are wringing every ounce from dollars whose value has shrunk while Senator Shaheen studied her palm cards and talking points.  A day to day cost on the lives of others created by Senator Shaheen for which there has been no adequate accounting.

Jeanne Shaheen’s personal tax returns are a distraction from the effect her position as a US Senator has and will have on everyone elses tax returns for decades.

We already knew she was a well-connected, out of touch, wealthy white one-percenter.  What we need to remember is that she will continue to be that while the rest of us struggle every day, as a result of her actions or indifference, just to stay in the Middle class.
