Doctor Who Shot Spree Killer Gets His Job Back

holstered-gun1Dr. Silverman stopped a spree killer by choosing to exercise his second amendment rights, despite a Delaware County hospital campus policy prohibiting firearms.  Dr. Silverman shot Richard Plotts after Plotts chose the victim zone and opened fire, killing a case worker.  Plotts just assumed he would have a force monopoly.  Turns out he was wrong.

Silverman, like many conceal carry permit holders, ignore these arbitrary requests to disarm, and with good reason.

It has been reported that Plotts still had 39 bullets left when he was shot and restrained*.  Typically, the spree shooter would save one for himself, so dozens of other staff or patients can thank Dr. Silverman for grasping the danger presented to citizens when they are denied the right to self defense.

Initial reports after an attack indicated that Dr. Silverman had been fired for violating Hospital policy and that his license to practice might be in jeopardy.   This no longer appears to be the case.  Dr. Silverman will keep his job

*Two other people did wrestled Plotts to the ground to ensure he was secured.
