Juan Williams continues the Left’s Infantalization of adults

Juan Williams - Prodigal SonAs I was watching Fox News Sunday (along with This Week with Stephy, and the other talking head shows) I was struck by what Juan Williams said about Bowe Bergdahl (as all the shows were talking about him:

You can’t get lost in the fog for key, very clear principle.  The clear principle is that we do not leave soldiers behind.  And at the moment, what is necessary here this Sunday is that I am reminded of the story of the Prodigal Son.  You don’t make judgments as you have the opportunity to bring that child back.

America should be loving this child at this moment.

So here we have an adult, who made an adult decision to join the military, had the adult forethought that he’d be deployed, had the adult training to go and kill our enemies, and then made another adult decision to leave all of his gear (excepting water, a journal, and a compass) when he made his adult decision to deliberately walk away from his platoon mates in a very adult situation of a battlefield to deliberately find our enemies (the Taliban) even so as to ask other adult Afghanis “where is a Talibani that can speak English”?  That also left an adult message behind.

I dunno, maybe it is just me, but I’m not seeing much of a “child” in all thatI see a son but not a child-son but an adult-son.  In looking at Luke 15: 11-32, I see a son that went out carousing and spending all his money – bad decisions.  I don’t see ANY reference that this son had made an adult decision to join an army at that time – only to fulfill his need for hedonistic self-gratification.

The Progressive philosophy is that ALL of us are mere children, that we do not know how to behave, how to think, or (as an ode to Warrenism) be able to succeed without them.  Perceived from a logical standpoint, we know that isn’t true but it works emotionally – the only way, pretty much, that Progressivism works (until they get ahold of the Force of Government and utilize those levers of power to “legislate behavior”).  And of course, if everyone is incapable of taking care of themselves, then Government HAS to step in to be both Daddy and Mommy (and in the case of single moms, Government Daddy).

Obviously, we don’t KNOW why he left.  We think he’s a troubled person, he may have lost the sense of America’s mission.  All true.  But the idea is that we do not leave people in the enemy’s hands.

Sorry, but as a dad that had a son just about in that area (who said “he deserted – court martial his ass”), I don’t have much sympathy for implementing a “leave no man behind” for an adult that willing left all his platoon mates behind – knowing that they would be put into harm’s way looking for him.  And to think that he was worth the equivalent of 5 top Taliban generals and strategists?  You leave no person behind on the battlefield that was in the foxhole fight with you and for you.

Both of my veterans sons just stared at me when I related what was going on – I cannot describe the look of disgust on either of their faces.  And for Obama to revel in the Rose Garden for sending back the Taliban EVEN AS WE ARE STILL AT WAR WITH THEM is why, I believe, the military will further no longer trust the Commander-in-chief.  We saw the silence when he spoke at the West Point event last week.  Now, the military is starting to speak out in ways they have not before.

Community Organizers work by rubbing people the wrong way to provoke others to action.   At what point will he rub the wrong people the wrong way with these lawless actions that put America at ris?

Here’s the clip (found after I watched the show):

…and then, of course, we got the “Everyone should shut up about this – none of you except the military has the right to say anything”.  Well, we are now starting to see the military break its traditional silence with regards to its civilian leadership.  Both of my veteran sons just stared at me when I related what was going on – I cannot describe the look of disgust on either of their faces. I found a post to this a bit ago; will put it up when I can find it.

But remember this: Community Organizers work by rubbing people the wrong way to provoke others to action.   At what point will he rub the wrong people the wrong way with these lawless actions that put America at risk?  At what point do you rub the military the wrong way – and what is the consequence?  There is certainly a Doomsday Prepper movement today and one of the most important questions that are asked is “What will the military do when the order is given to fire on other Americans”?  Will they obey that order from their Commander in Chief?  I think that this episode, of doing a swap for bad evil men that helped to kill their buddies while the war is still on for a guy that walked away from them will not go over well and will not be forgotten.  This may well have set the stage for the answer to that question (e.g., screw with us, willya?)

Too bad, Juan – telling others to shut it that’s not how it works as the Left, on subject after subject, wants us to just shut up and shut down the conversation – sorta like the former IRS manager Lois Lerhner did after making her statements of “I’m innocent of having the IRS target Conservative / TEA Party groups” and then take the Fifth.  Translation: “I get to talk and then it is over!”.
