Blogline of the Day – Bush or Obama: who brought what to Iraq?

“George Bush Brought Democracy to Iraq – Barack Obama Brought ISIS”

Jim Hoft

Unlike Democrats & Progressives that constantly whine about “settled law so shut up!” (when Republicans attempt to undo Democrat law, but then say “I WON” when they repeal Republican laws)and “settled science so shut up!” (“the glaciers are burning due to global warming climate change catastrophic weather!”), we don’t call it “settled history” – we’ll just keep talking about it.  We know that political polarization is such that given a set of actual facts, to which no one disputes (mainly), completely opposite conclusions can be derived.

Yes, Bush went to finish the Iraq War that started with Desert Storm (another reason for WINning wars instead of settling with a stalemate) but a growing democracy was starting in Iraq even after winning the war and almost losing the peace.

Yes, Maliki resorted back to sectarianism, but even the PM of the Kurds (the Governor?) said on one of the talking head shows this morning (sorry, have forgotten which one) said that things would be FAR different right now if we (Americans) had a force left in country.  We did so for decades to make sure that the peace was won in Japan and in Germany – a lot of people continued to fight WW II well after the WINning peace treaties were signed.

Obama wanted to make his legacy – he WILL end the war(s) and pulled the troops out. Unilaterally.  Legacy building, you see (as opposed to what the Kurd Governor said) – I guess trying to finally earn that Nobel Prize around his neck.  Problem is, he’s added The Order of The Albatross to it by forgetting one very prime item – the enemy gets to vote on ending wars, too.  And ISIS (also known as ISIL) is voting in a VERY big way.
