Where Is the NH Democrat Party Outrage Over A Gun-Running State Senator? [Updated]

Gun Grabbers - A Special Kind Of StupidDemocrats hate it when people not employed by the state have firearms.  New Hampshire Democrats are no different.  Every policy decision on guns leads toward the accumulation of force in the hands of bureaucrats and lawmakers at the expense of regular citizens.  (See also: peasants.)  So you’d think that a story about a state Senator, an elected official by-passing the very same enhanced background check system on which Progressives everywhere wish to model their own incremental advance toward a force monopoly,  would be ample fuel for that particular ideological fire?

Where is the outrage, the press releases, the sound-bites from progressives policy wonks, politicians, and talking heads?  Why hasn’t CNN or MSNBC given the story of a gun-running elected official even a sliver of a fraction of the attention paid to a few bright orange road-cones on bridge in New Jersey?

Typically, just using the word ‘gun’ in a sentence (unless spoken by the left, followed by the word ‘violence’) is enough to send the force-monopoly Democrat party co-dependents into a gesticulating spittle-producing fit.

Campaign donations from obscure businessmen most American’s have never heard of induce gesticulating fits from the left.   They get regular treatment by the New Hampshire Democrat party and its cadre of out-of-state funded bilge bearers.   So where is the outrage over a state senator arrested and charged with gun running?  A guy who is aiding and abetting a crime lord for purposes that may even include arming terrorists?

He’s a Democrat.  He is an anti-gun California Democrat, and a criminal, so New Hampshire Democrats have nothing to say.  Move along.

I just found some more analysis of this phenomena from Tom Jackson at the Tampa Trib, who references Glen Reynolds USA Today column, which is a must read.

“We’ve seen this before, of course: Washington Post reporter Sarah Kliff dismissed the horrific Kermit Gosnell trial as a ‘local crime story,’ even as the press was going crazy covering another equally local crime story, the George Zimmerman trial. Likewise, another state senator, Texas’ Wendy Davis, got national attention when she filibustered an abortion bill, a story that fit conveniently with the ‘war on women’ theme used by Democrats.

“It’s almost as if ‘what’s news’ is just a synonym for ‘what advances the narrative chosen by the Democratic Party.’ The question that ‘news’ operations like CNN may want to ask is, how many people are really interested in getting their news from party organs.”
