Warmonger Shaheen – What Was it That Was “Expensive or Unnecessary?”

helmet-rifle-bootsBack in the day, when candidate Jeanne Shaheen was parroting the Democrat party line in Iraq and Afghanistan, we had good wars and bad wars.  We had daily body counts, anti-war protests, and something called expensive and unnecessary Defense (or military) spending.

Children, women, families, roads, schools, didn’t we all suffer as a result of those mixed up priorities.  I know I didn’t.  But there was a lot of talk about it.  A lot of talk.

In the age of Obama, the first part of which had a sidecar with a Democrat majority House and Senate, these staples of candidate and media excess vanished. There were still war dead, and we continued to spend, you just didn’t hear about that, until –Oh, I don’t know, how about right now?

How much has the Federal Government spent on National defense, and the military in particular, during the tenure of New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen?

For the purpose of this exercise the years of GWB’s warmongering, and these numbers include defense budgets and then just the military portion of that total, are calculated from 2002-2009.  Eight budgets worth.  And yes, Obama was the man in 2009 but we’ve given that first year to Bush, because Obama did kind of inherit that, but remember– it was passed by an entirely Democrat majority congress.

Shaheen gets credit for 2010 through 2014, five years worth of outlays.

So who spent more on defense and the military?

Warmonger Jeanne Shaheen oversaw more spending per year, and more total military spending per year than President Bush.

Bush vs Shaheen  Total Defense Div by 8 yr  Military Only Div by 8 yr
Bush 2002-2009 (8 Budget years)  4.865 Trillion 608 Bil/yr  3.36 Trillion 420 Bil/Yr
Total Defense Div by 5 yr  Military Only Div by 5 yr
Shaheen 2010-2014 ( 5 Budget years)  4.439 Trillion 888 Bil/yr  3.484 Trillion 696 Bil/yr

If you do some math you will find that based on yearly average outlays, warmonger Shaheen, in 8 years, would spend 7.1 trillion on Defense spending with 5.6 trillion of that for the military outlay in the Defense budget.  That’s roughly 46% more Defense spending under Shaheen, with 67% more spent on Military operations.

I’m not sure what Jeanne’s explanation is for this, particularly in the context of debt spending, which was kissing ten trillion when she was elected and is now about to penetrate 18 trillion without any indication of pulling out early.

What’s that?  You heard something about cutting defense spending?

The 2014 estimate is close to the 2009 Defense outlays, but still well above the spending of the Bush surge years.  The Shaheen Obama Defense Budget was never even close to the 2008 or 2009 outlays.   That’s why her average spending is so much higher.

So there you have it.  Warmonger Shaheen.  Feel free to quote her or any Democrat circa 2006-2008 and then point out the fact that the Democrat Defense and military spending made Bush look like an novice; which applies to every other budget line item as well if I’m not mistaken.
