Tyler Deaton must have done the “Happy Dance” over that

That” being the retribution against the long time Chief Technology Officer Brendan Eich and an extremely short term stint as Chief Executive Officer of Mozilla, the open software organization that is behind the FireFox browser and Thunderbird email program (both which I have used for years, but more on that later).  As I said before, the Progressive movement is all about removing the traditional pillars of American society, aiding (or is that completing?) in Obama’s promise to “Fundamentally Transform” America.  It made me think back to what Tyler Deaton did to advance this (emphasis mine, reformatted):

WEDNESDAY, FEB. 12: SANTORUM SPURS CRITICISM. The New Hampshire Republican Party’s decision to invite 2012 presidential candidate and former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum to speak at a major upcoming event is not sitting well with a prominent GOP gay rights advocate.  The NHGOP announced Wednesday morning that Santorum will join Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Sen. Kelly Ayotte, Rep. Pete King, former Ambassador John Bolton and others at the March 14-15 Northeastern Republican Leadership Conference in Nashua, which is expected to attract Republicans from throughout the Northeast.  The stated goal of the conference is to discuss how to expand the base of the GOP to put it in a stronger position to succeed in the 2014 and 2016 elections. Tyler Deaton, current national committeeman for the New Hampshire Young Republicans and former executive director of the former pro-gay marriage group New Hampshire Republicans for Freedom and Equality, criticized the choice.

“It’s embarrassing for the New Hampshire Republican Party to associate itself with Rick Santorum, especially at a time when we have so much opportunity to be successful,” he told the Granite Status.  “Most Granite Staters, including, Republicans, reject Santorum’s disgusting comments directed at gay and lesbian Americans. He has no role in the future of our party and his invitation to the Northeastern Republican Leadership Conference should be rescinded.”

Yeah, and I’m just SO thrilled that “Freedom and Equality” is just for certain people only – not for Santorum. So, Deaton was trying to do to Santorum what others did to Eich; if you do not believe the way WE do, well, you should not have a “role in the future of our party“.  Now I’m not generally a betting kind of guy, but I’d be willing to take that be that Deaton would want to silence me as well – simply because I have a religious view of what marriage is, between a man and a woman.  I have advocated for that stance, urged people to vote against gay marriage – but should the response EVER be to destroy someone for holding that view?

It seems that Deaton does.  And the folks bankrolling his group does (did).  The folks that were fine with Eich were until they heard of a single issue contribution do.  Let’s not forget when The Human Rights Commission certainly decided that the journalist from Maine no longer deserved a way to provide for his family.  And there is also the Heritage Foundation list on Prop 8 retaliations, too.

Nice to see that you’re anti-religion, Deaton!  And if Deaton wants to, he’s welcome to come on GrokTALK! and we can debate this – but I have my doubts that he’s willing to be directly confronted on this issue:

That simply being pro-traditional marriage makes you an anti-gay bigot.  That simply just another redefining of the common language (just like the word “gay” was) to advance a political agenda.  But admitting to that, Tyler, would kinda destroy The Narrative, wouldn’t it?

As opposed to what the Founders envisioned (that government and politics be in the background) Progressive Politics DEMANDS that politics must be shoved into every nook and cranny of everyone else’s lives – they will not allow anyone “Not to change“:

MICHELLE OBAMA: “Barack knows that we are going to have to make sacrifices; we are going to have to change our conversation; we’re going to have to change our traditions, our history; we’re going to have to move into a different place as a nation.”…”Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed.”

And now we see “Equality” (THE word for Political Correctness / Cultural Marxists everywhere) – but no equal right to Santorum’s Right to Free Speech.  Or anyone that disagrees with Deaton.  Equality for me but not for thee?  As we have ALWAYS maintained, the answer is never less speech but always MORE speech.  ESPECIALLY speech that you believe to be nasty or odious.  And ESPECIALLY political speech – even that which disagrees with your stance.  Yes, I will defend your Right to say what I oppose, but it seems that Deaton hasn’t grasped that fundamental aspect of the First Amendment with his outburst against Santorum…

Note:  this is what Santorum said – only those seeking to twist his words can arrive at how Deaton wanted to paint him:

“In every society, the definition of marriage has not ever, to my knowledge, included homosexuality,” Santorum told The Associated Press. “That’s not to pick on homosexuality. It’s not, you know, man on child, man on dog, or whatever the case may be. It is one thing.”

They picked on the lesser so as to denigrate the major.  They cannot stand that someone would stand up and say that marriage has never been homosexual in nature in society.  However, Politics has also been “transformed”  – no longer how well you can advance in the arena of ideas but how well you can demonize, silence, and sideline your opponent.  It is no longer enough to win the argument and the votes, it is about taking their living away from them.  Such is Deaton’s definition of “equality”, I guess.

And those that went after Branden Eich.
