The obligatory post: Sebelius resigns

Sebelius Website for DummiesAt that level of any organization, one never knows in looking from the outside in and bottom up whether is was pre-ordained, self-determined, or “quit or be fired”.  In any case, HHS Secretary Sebelius has handed in that resignation.  $700 million and four years for a website that still doesn’t work (front end mostly, but the back end is still rather buck naked).  $700 million spent on marketing to get signups.  Bogus numbers on that end too.

People will remember her – those that got “affordable” healthcare only because the Law was rigged to be a financial Hoover of the middle and upper classes to pay for it (once again, Progressives only tout who they help and NEVER who they’ve hurt).  Earn too much for a subsidy and you are forced into a plan that averages 41% higher premiums and two to four times the deductible.  You know what that means?

Right – the average family will spend 10s of thousands for insurance that is all but worthless.  $500 /month is $6,000/year and with deductibles per family at up to $12K when it is all said and done, what’s the value add to the ordinary family?  Yeah, nothing.

A legacy of dependency on and domination of The State in healthcare with be her history.

The Progressive mantra is, after all, is that we’re just not smart enough to decide on such things on our own merits.  Instead, a cadre of non-partisan and highly technical and capable Administrative State is the answer for “an efficient society”.  She has certainly given lie to that heart of the Progressive being: highly partisan and by any and all results seen, a miserable failure on rolling out Obamacare.  A horrible website, monies spent that weren’t allocated legislatively, coercion by the Feds, and very dubious means of reporting numbers.

Not to mention the misery of up to 6 million families who lost their perfectly acceptable insurance because some bureaucrat decided they knew better than the families what was best for them.  There are words for that, but I hope the new phrase for that becomes “You’ve Sebeliused”.

That would be a great legacy, yes?
