Message from the Ohio Republicans: - Granite Grok

Message from the Ohio Republicans:

“If there are TEA partiers, 912ers, Libertarians, and Constitutionalists who want to identify themselves that way that want to help us work to elect candidates that stand for Constitutional, Liberty & Freedom values, and want to help us work in two years to reelect a Senator of the same outlook, and want to help us get that kind of team elected — people who are doing the right things for Ohio — my hand’s extended to anyone who wants to be part of the cause,” ORP Chairman Matt Borges told reporters in February.

Wouldn’t that just be the cat’s meow?  That they’d be beating the Live Free or Die State in actually having folks that believe in foundational Principles and sticking to them?

Oh crap- I mistyped!

Much of the election-season conflict is rooted in ORP’s need to appear interested in policy when Party leadership’s real goal is spinning whatever Red Team vs. Blue Team rhetoric it takes to put allies in office.

“If there are tea partiers who want to identify themselves that way that want to help us work to reelect Governor Kasich, and want to help us work in two years to reelect Senator Portman, and want to help us get our statewide team reelected — people who are doing the right things for Ohio — my hand’s extended to anyone who wants to be part of the cause,” ORP Chairman Matt Borges told reporters in February.

Emphasis added. Ohioans turned off by Kasich’s dishonest attempts to reboot the concept of “compassionate conservatism” need not apply.

Compassionate Conservatism.  That’s all they need with Kasich turning from his campaign mantra and expanding Medicaid there – just too many bucks floating in the wind.  Bigger Government, bigger budgets, and bigger taxes.  Both there in Ohio and here in NH, the words out of the Republicans has been that state level taxpayers would not be on the hook, touting that the Feds would be paying 100% for the first three years, ignoring the calls from we “limited government” types “and the next year after that???

Compassionate Conservatism – an oxymoron as we found out, the hard way, that it really meant: bigger government and bigger expenses for it.  Not making it smaller, just less than the Democrats.
