Inconsistency of Government leads to Tyranny

When we see the armed might of the US Government arrayed against a single American rancher and not against illegal alien “invaders, why is it that those in Government wonder why “the consent of the governed” is being withdrawn from them?

BLM inconsistency

We see multiple episodes of those wishing to cede from their own States to form new one because they are ignored and denigrated – the Rights of the suburban or rural “minority” populations trampled by the larger urban liberal ones.  We see Progressive legislators not trusting their constituents and take decisions away from them – and not seeing the anger building from being treated like children at best and cretins at worst.  We see “solutions” to the littlest problems put in place while avoiding the big ones we actually want them to fix (and those generally result from previous government tries to fix something that should have just been left alone).

Which IS the higher prioritya cowboy whose family has protected the environment for 130 years or illegal aliens that have trash it?  Which IS the higher evil– a family that has obeyed State law but not Federal one but HAS protected the land for its fauna, the tortoises, and their cattle or the Bureau of Land Management that was tasked by law to protect the tortoises but ends up in having to “kill the tortoises in order to save them” from mis-management?

This is the problem – when Government becomes so large that it thinks it can manage everything, it no longer has the ability to set Priorities properly.  Nothing can be the “higher good” when everything is necessary – and if you don’t think that the Big Government devotees believe that EVERYTHING is necessary, you’ve never been at a budget meeting and try to reduce that budget by even 1%.  They gnash their teeth and wail even if the rise in their budget is lowered.

No, a lack of priorities is the problem – especially when there should be NO priority (as government shouldn’t be doing some things at all).
