Disqus Doodlings – The Results of Gubmint Education..

The Las Vegas Review Journal has an article about the Federales rounding up cattle belonging to a rancher whose family had grazed their herd on the same public land in Nevada for generations, because the rancher believed that his longstanding usage pre-empted any attempt by the Bureau of Land Management to impose fees upon a whim.

The arguments got quite heated, and I was called a few names, but the post by “Green Beans” took the cake, and demanded a response:

Why do you need permission from government when the People are the true Sovereigns?  Perhaps you’ve forgotten the principles our Country was Founded on.

The principles our country were founded on were created by, guess who???  The government…..

Exactly NO.
The government of our country was created by the principles of the founders, and amongst those truths and principles which we hold self-evident is the right to alter or abolish said government. In other words, government gets its powers from our choice to delegate those powers.

We get our rights from God or from Natural Law, whichever you prefer, but NOT from government.

THEREFORE: Government cannot take away our rights, but we can alter or abolish a government which becomes destructive of those rights.

Now, please excuse me – we’ve got some Alterin’ An’ Abolishin’ to do!
Oh how I miss Herman Cain’s stump speeches!

It’s in the name: Green, as in Enviro-Wacko, and probably red on the inside. Beans, as in Jack and the Beanstalk – believes in government that can grow to the sky forever.

PS – Green Beans prefers not to have an avatar – I took the liberty of adding one for this post.
