"Depends on our education..." - Granite Grok

“Depends on our education…”

“Our liberty depends on our education, our laws, and habits . . . it is founded on morals and religion, whose authority reigns in the heart, and on the influence all these produce on public opinion before that opinion governs rulers.”    – Fisher Ames  (do you know who is is?After the jump)

Every time I put something like this up, I cringe.  It is obvious that learning “our education” is all but impossible as “our educational system” is all but worthless for teaching the precepts of how our Nation was created, the philosophical underpinnings of it, and the historical import of it in world history.  Instead, all we seemingly get out of our “progressive education system” is that our Founding Fathers were old white men that owned slaves (thus setting up the environment – why would I want to defend it? Which a later post will show that this is a desired outcome).  Anyways, here are some native born Americans asked the same questions that naturalized Citizens must answer in order to pass their test:

* Fisher Ames – He served in Congress from March 4, 1789 to March 3, 1797 (First, Second, Third, and Fourth Congresses)
