Brown Runs – Establishment Cheers – Fergus Quoted

Travelocity, Northern Edition Fergus Cullen Kiss of Death: Endorsement by Fergus? From Concord Monitor:

[P]rominent Republicans say there hasn’t been this kind of consensus and excitement around any Senate candidate in recent memory. The national attention and money around Brown’s candidacy looks more like a reaction to a presidential candidate, former state party chairman Fergus Cullen said.

“Three months ago this was looking like a year that was going well for Republicans but not necessarily in New Hampshire,” Cullen said. “There is tremendous relief among establishment Republicans to have Brown entering the race.

Isn’t that what we’ve been saying? The Monitor also pointed out:

When he did get to the Senate, he had a record of being one of the most bipartisan senators, according to an analysis by Congressional Quarterly.

Echoing Brown’s own comments about “first the numbers, then the principles”, [F]ormer Gov. John H. Sununu said in introducing Brown.“We’re here because we can count to 51. … Fifty-one Republican senators, that’s what it’s all about in 2014.” (AP)

Also over at the ‘fishwrap’, note the former Hunstman supporter who is all excited about Brown’s candidacy. Hmmm – says it all, doesn’t it?
