We’re used to the idea here in NH, so why not others?

 NH Constitution:

[Art.] 10. [Right of Revolution.] Government being instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security, of the whole community, and not for the private interest or emolument of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, whenever the ends of government are perverted, and public liberty manifestly endangered, and all other means of redress are ineffectual, the people may, and of right ought to reform the old, or establish a new government. The doctrine of nonresistance against arbitrary power, and oppression, is absurd, slavish, and destructive of the good and happiness of mankind.

Now, no one is talking seriously here in NH of having another revolution but the idea, one of the bastions against a Tyrannical Government, is built into our system (even as it embarrasses Progressives who seemingly don’t care how irritating their regressive “we will control you” policies rub the rest of us) – the source of much of the angst.  In almost every case, it is more conservative suburban / rural areas that wish to do so as they are sick and tired of being overwhelmed by liberal urban areas by sheer dint of population size differentials.  Thus, this from The Blaze doesn’t surprise me at all.  In the last year, I have heard of at least a dozen efforts to succeed from their state and either form a new one or join an adjoining one.  Heck, the idea of splitting California into six new states goes the furthest of allowing like minded people live their lives more appropriate to their own philosophies than by others. After all, isn’t that one of the major reasons our ancestors moved to the New World in the first place?
